NFL: St. Louis Rams 6 Arizona Cardinals 12 recap and analysis

After the Cardinals wasted a 1st drive started well due to a 10 yards penalites the Rams got the ball in good position and with only passes they have been able to arrive close to the Cards' endzone but they found a wall who forced them to kick their 1st 3 points of the game.Despite offensive struggles the AZ defense cameout big to force Mason to fumble the ball with a intelligent hit by DT Rucker, this play let the Cardinals to start their drive from STL 31 yards but they didn't capitalyzed it completely due to the inefficiency in passing game but at least they cameout with a game tying FG. AZ offense started their following offensive drive with a big play on a fly route for 49 yards by Micheal Floyd but once again the Cards haven't been able to score a TD again because the Rams defense put a very good pressure on all offense and forced them to make mistakes, Catanzaro brought his team ahead with his 2nd FG of the game. The Rams tried at least to tie the game with less then 2 minutes left but again the AZ defense shut the door on them with great pressure on obvious pass situations to end the 1st half 6-3 in favour of the Cards.
The blitzes has been an huge factor in 1st half, with both offenses short handed it seemed that they couldn't handle all the pressure proposed by both defense and the result has been lot of quick 3 and outs and no TD.
The 2nd half started in the same way of all the 1st half has been played with the Rams who started with the ball kicked out of the field on a quick 3 and out. Ted Ginn proved he can still return punts taking is team to the Rams 42 yards after a very good gain. Once again Stanton has been inaccurate especially on 3rd and long and this prodiced another quick 3 and out nullifying the great return by Ginn. AZ's defense seemed no signing of stop what they did all game long continue to stop the Rams this time with a Foote sack on 3rd down who forced the Rams to punt from a very bad field position to let the Cards start from their 30 yards after a very good punt. J.Jenkins inability to cover Floyd down field let the refs to throw a flag that resulted in a 26 yards pass interference that open the chances to score some points, chances that seemed to disappear after an Aaron Donald sack on Stanton who injuried him on his right knee and forced him to go in the locker room and also a sack that threw out the Cards from the FG range on a 3rd and 21 but the 3rd AZ QB Lindley completed a pass to let Catanzaro kick and made a 51 yards FG. Cardinals defense continue to provide toughness and kept the Rams on their midfield and this lead Catanzaro kick his 4th FG of the night this 1 from 46 yards after a balanced drive characteryzed by good gains even on the ground but they regret the failed conversion of the rd3 down due to Brown's drop on an easy pass to receive.
WR Bailey lead the charge with a pair of key catches that along with 2 sweep plays took the Rams 1 yard away from scoring the 1st TD of the game but they failed the 3rd and 1 conversion so Zurlhein made his 2nd FG of the game to cut the deficit to just 1 possession. STL defense gave their offense a chance to win the game stopping AZ's offense with 3 minutes to play, 2 TOs and 80 yards to go. Cardinals defense stopped them at midfield with a different combinantion of different of blitzes and a very good pressure from all side, the decisive play has been made by the slot CB Powers who blocked an Hill's pass on a very well designed blitz. AZ gained the possession of the ball and they chew the majority of the clock remained in the game to give the ball to the Rams with just 18 seconds left and 86 yards to go, the miracle didn't happen due to the Patrick Peterson pick 6 on the final hail mary.
This hasn't been a funny game to watch a lot of intesity but a lack of spectacular plays and any other offensive play. Both offenses have been overplayed by the opponents defense even due to the 2 very bad QB who lead the offense, Lindley (in relief of Stanton) and Hill  have being so inaccurate, unable to read to opponents coverage and those stuffs resulted in 0 total TD in the game. Lots of congratulations go to the defenses who made the predictions become reality, blitzes have been a dominant part in all the game forcing both QBs to hurry up especially on 3rd down situations. The MVP of this game goes to Frostee Rucker who played an awesome game giving his contribution to shut down the Rams' running game, even Kicker Chandler Catanzaro deserve to be mentioned in the MVP contest, he score every Cardinals' point in this game.
