UFC Fight Night: Condit vs Maia fight analysis and considerations
This has been an "old school" kind of MMA fight between a pure striker (Condit) and a pure grappler (Maia) with the chance to go for the title in case of a win. As soon as the fight started Maia tried to bring it to the ground with very quick and precise takedown something that Condit hasn't been able to contrast, once on the ground the brazilian fighter took the back of his opponent and put him in a rear naked choke that forced the american fighter to tap out.
After this match Maia will get a title shot against the winer between Woodley and Thompson, on the other side Condit who came so close to win the title against Lawler in his last fight should think about the retirement after this bad loss that throw him and that really made him feel discomforted for the way it came.
