NFL Super Bowl XLIX: Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots matchup analysis

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS VS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

This great event will be on at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glandale AZ and the 1st thing to analize is the field, a field covered by a retractable roof that in my opinion will be close and this goes in favor of the winner of the AFC due to the better pass offense and the need of passing more the ball than their opponents, the fans is the 2nd factor to analize, i don't think that even if the local fans are rivals of the Seahawks they will root for the Pats after the deflate ball scandal and about the noise i think the 12th man of Seattle will bring an advantage to the NFC Champions, 3rd and the most important in this discussion, the PRESSURE!!! I think that both team have huge pressure as it always happen in the Super Bowl but the fact that Brady lost his last 2 Super Bowls against in my opinion weaker teams than the this year Seahawks and most of all with better o-line and WR core this will have some effect on Brady's mind even if he his habituated to play Super Bowls in fact tis will be his 6th of a great career.
Seahawks offense vs Patriots defense
The best thing Seattle can do against the NE's defense is run the ball and multiple ways, in my opinion they won't change their approach to the game that brought them here, they have just to improve some aspects of the game like the short passes,  Wilson will need to be precise because Belichick is very good to put the opponents' QBs in uncomfortable situations taking away the zone and the players that the QB prefers to pass the ball. Wilson will not have easy life to pass the ball down field due to consistent secondary of the Pats lead by Revis who will shutdown whoever he will want in Seattle uniform plus McCourthy who is the FS designed to help over the top and not only there the dangerous route that Wilson used in recent weeks. Collins and Ninkovich will have an important role counting Wilson in the pocket and make him becoming a pure pocket passer something that he isn't. The biggest threat for the Pats will be Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch  who has the power and the physical skills to beat the interior part of their defense that's why Wilfork and Higtower in particular are called to play the game of their lives because everything in this matchup rotating around stop Lynch in all of the rushing situations.
In this matchup i see an huge advantage of the Seahawks on the ground and an huge 1 too on the air for the Pats.
Patriots offense vs Seahawks defense
Brady short passes vs Seattle's press coverage...yes it is! A lot of the final result of the game will be determinate with this matchup. The Seahawks play a 4-3 defense that is a 4-4 due to Chancellor's position close to the line of scrimmage, man to man outside, zone inside with the LBs and get pressure with the d-line rotating a lot of player to always have fresh ones on the field. the Pats WR Lafell a part are far away to be physical enough to escape the press coverage in time to give Brady a chance to pass them the ball but the have Gronkowski who should make the difference but against a defense who doesn't have weak points he will face a zone coverage made by quick and hard hitting line backers and this will reduce his usual edge off speed against LBs, another huge problem for the Pats will be their o-line they will be under pressure so much right from the beginning even with blitzes and combined with the press coverage will reduce the available choice for them, that's why screens and play actions will be so important for them and it's now that they will need the best LaGarrette Blount who will need to be physical against a very physical defense, his effort will open up many chances to gain time for Brady to pass the ball, they should use even Vereen in some situations for release routes and screens against blitzing situations using his very good hands as a receiver. I think Brady will avoid to pass the ball deep due to the o-line issues and also due to Thomas III that will use his outstanding speed to help over the top against everybody because he is also so physical and that's why he should stop the Gronk's vertical seems (in my opinion the only 1 in Pats uniform who can go deep).

My final prediction is the repeat of the Seattle Seahawks with Lynch as the MVP and Gronkowski as the x factor who could change the game. Final result prediction: Seahawks 27 Patriots 20

WWE Royal Rumble 2015 rating and considerations

RATINGS

The Ascension vs New Age Outlaws: C- This match has been stipulated to make the emerging tag team get some pushes and the designated victims have been the 2 legends of the ring.

The Usos vs The Miz and Mizdow: C This has been probably the final match of this rivalry and probably is the begin of the end of the partnership between Miz and Mizdow.

The Bella Twins vs Natalya and Paige: C- The reaction of the Bella Twins after some losses during this feud, the wrestling technics have been good but i exptected more submission moves by Natalya and her partner.

Lesnar vs Rollins vs Cena: A+ This has been one of the best match in WWE history, a complete masterpiece in my opinion they put something complete in the show, i mean we witnessed to awesome spectacular moves on the air (shooting star press and a flying elbowsmash by Rollins) and also on the ground with both Lesnar and Cena shown all their huge power with unbelievable lift of bodies. The result has been always on the line with continuous change of pace and of advantage who kept every fan exciting till the end of the match.

Royal Rumble match: C+ A part Bubba Ray Dudley and DDP not great surprises, as i predicted Roman Reigns won but it hasn't been difficult to guess it due to the need of a new "Face" who can matchup Lesnar dominance, the WWE is trying to make Reigns the new the Rock and i think he's not the good character for him, the Rock entrance at the end didn't excite me so much it has been just a new Sting kind of help by a legend the WWE should find something new to propose.

THE PPV: B- They have been saved by the Triple Threat Match that has been unique because the other matches have been mediocre due to the lack of spectacular techniques and also the lack of big surprise that i personally expected by 1 of the most important PPV of the year.

NHL 2015 All Star Game: Team Foligno 12 Team Toews 17 recap and considerations

The 2015 All Star game has been the most prolific in the history with 29 total goals that beat the precedent record of 26 total goals and also the Team Toews beat the all time record for goals (16) by a single team with 17. If you love the defense and the tough parts of this game well this hasn't been the right game for you but if you love to see skill moves, goals and spectacular stuffs related to the offense this has been the perfect game for you because due to the lack of hard contacts the players have been able to show plays that normally are not able to do like trick shots, dribbles and passes. The game started fast right from the beginning and continued in that way until the end, after a balanced 1st period the Team Toews got the lead with an impressive 2nd period scoring 7 goals and then closing the game out in the 3rd with other 6 ones. All 3 periods have been played with a frenetic pace and sometimes you didn't even got the time to watch the replay of the goal that another goal have been already scored, this has been a perfect image of how the physical part is the main key to stop the offenses that otherwise would been unstoppables due to the huge skills of the players.
My 3 stars of the game are: 3rd Toews who scored 5 points and shown some awesome puck handling moves, 2nd Voracek with 6 points equally split in goals and assists, 1st Tavares with 4 goals helped his team to breakout and win this game.
My personal rate of this game is B+ the game respected the spirit of the game, the only thing i expected to see has been more trick plays but maybe it didn't happen due to the will of the players to win this game.

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins 2 Chicago Blackhawks 3 SO recap and analysis

The Penguins hosted the Blackhawks without their best d-man Letang out with an undisclosed injury, after 7 minutes without any emotion Chicago stroke 1st with D Rundblad with a very good shot close to the blue line using the screens his team mates in front of Fleury. Pittsburgh tried to answer with 8:40 left in the 1st quarter on a PP but the very good Blackhawks forecheck prevented any chance to score. With 4:36 remaining Chicago went to PP for too many men on the ice and even if they had a good puck movement they didn't create good chances to score. The 2nd quarter has been explosive right from the beginning with just 1:40 Marian Hossa scored a goal with wrist shot on the opposite post under the crossbar, immediate has been the reaction of Pittsburgh with C Sill who scored a beautiful goal on a snap shot from the high slot that gave no chance to G Crawford to stop it. The Penguins improved so much and their physical style of game paid of and they tied the game with a Downie goal who has been quick to arrive 1st on an uncontrolled rebound in front of Crawford. The 3rd quarter began with the huge miss chance by LW Perron who missed an open net after a great play to make Crawford miss, since that moment both teams have been a way more conservative and the scoring chances number decrease and the game went to the OT where happened the same that happened in the 3rd quarter with both team scared to lose but quiet propositive on offense and RW Kane  got the major opportunities of the OT with 2 back hand shot. None score so the game has been extended to the SO where Pittsburgh missed the 1st 2 attempt And Chicago won it with 2 straight scores due 2 very precise shots by Toews and Kane. This game has been dominated by both team but in different parts of it, Chicago dominated the 1st part of the game then after 5 minutes in the 2nd quarter the physical game of Pittsburgh made them comeback in the game but since the 2-2 goal by Downie both teams played conservative till the end. In this game the Blackhawks shown a better puck movement than the Penguins who played more with their nerves due to the bad day of their 2 starts Crosby and Malkin who have been neautralized by the Blackhawks' defense. The MVP of this game in my opinion is Hossa who scored a goal and had a primary assist on the other one.

NFL: AFC Championship New England Patriots 45 Indianapolis Colts 7 recap and analysis

Indy started the game with the ball but they didn’t produce anything and they punted the ball to the Pats that once arrived at midfield they punted the ball back to the Colts but Cribs didn’t control the ball and the Pats ST recovered the ball on Indy’s 30 yards. The Pats capitalized it completely with a balanced drive alternating short outside passes and inside powerful runs by Blount that scored the 1st TD of the game form the goaline with a dive run. Indy tried to answer back the Pats but their attempt failed with the missed 51 yards FG by Vinatieri. The Pats continued in the same way of they ended their last drive and marched again down field right to the Colts’ goaline where the FB Develin received the 1st TD pass of the game by Brady on a flat route. Indy continued to struggle on offense and NE tried to put the game on ice keeping the same strategy of the last drives with the lil difference that once arrived in Colts territory they tried to go to Gronkowski on a post route covered 1 on 1 by MLB Jackson who picked the unprecise Brady's pass off. Luck finally got his rhythm and drove his team for 93 yards on 10 plays most of them on the air especially the big one of Hilton that converted a 3rd down on a fade, the Colts scored later on a 1 yard run by HB Tipton on a power run. The Pats got the final chance of the 1st half to put points on the board and they did with a short FG by Gostowski after a more difficult drive than the others due to the improvement of the Colts’ coverage especially in 1 on 1 situations.
The Pats explosive start of the 2nd half brought them other 7 points with a drive started on the ground with some impressive runs by Blount then once they arrived around the Colts 20 yards they scored on a play action pass received by the elegible LT Nate Solder. The Colts continued to be unable to produce anything on offense so the Pats closed the game out with the following 2 drives the 1st one they used heavy formations with great success on running game with Blount that took them close to the Colts end zone where Gronk caught his 1st TD of the game. On the following drive Revis picked of Luck on a missed throw and he took the ball on the Colts’s 10 yards where Blount scored another rushing TD on a powerful run. I expected a Pats win but not a blow out like the with a garbage time 4th quarter.
Indianapolis completely out of the game right from the beginning’s fumble, Luck hasn’t been able to attack the Pats defense doing even worse than the other times against the Pats, they also has been ineffective on the ground with a very poor performance by Herron. On defense they continued to have no answer for NE’s HBs and again like last year Divisional game Blount killed them badly and made Brady’s job a way easier and they have too too aggressive especially against the runs overreact and oversight themselves exposing too much to cut backs, on defense the Pats awesome performance by Revis and all the secondary due to very good job of their pass rushers who put on Luck a consistent pressure all game long.
My MVP trophy goes to Pats’ LaGarrette Blount who has been dominant with his power all game long and gave another dimension to his offense.

NFL: NFC Championship Seattle Seahawks 28 Green Bay Packers 22 OT recap and analysis

The Packers started with the possession of the ball and they started with a drive full of short passes and few runs on the weak side, once they arrived on the Seahawks 30 yards Rodgers forced on 3rd and 10 a deep pass for WR Adam well picked off by Sherman in the end zone. Seattle has been stripped by the ball quickly by an interception by Clinton Dix o a deflected pass intended to WR Kearse and well defended by CB Williams, the Packs didn’t capitalized completely due to a great goaline stand of the Seattle’s defense who forced Crosby to kick the 1st 3 points of the game. On the following kick off return Baldwin fumble the ball later recovered by the Packers who again have been stopped short of the end zone and again Crosby had to kick other 3 points. The Seahawks continued to struggle offensively and they gave Rodgers the ball at midfield something that let the Packers score again on a perfect pass by Rodgers at the end of the 1st quarter in the back of the end zone to Cobb who got free on a crossing route. The 2nd quarter continued in the same way as the 1st ended with Seattle unable to produce anything offensively and forced again to a 3 and out by an aggressive Packers defense, the Packs moved the ball well especially on the ground but again the Seahawks defense made a good job on 3rd down and forced Crosby to kick another FG. Wilson on the following play tried to do too much with a deep pass intended to Kearse who was double covered and Ha Ha Clinton Dix made his 2nd pick of the game. Rodgers arrived early in Seattle’s territory with a Nelson’s reception on a slant route but once arrived there Rodgers wasn’t on the same page with his WR and CB Maxwell picked him off on a very off target pass. Seattle finally gave the ball consistently to Marshawn Lynch and this choice produce good results and they seemed to be able to score but once they arrived in GB’s redzone they tried to score on the air with Wilson who passed the ball to Baldwin on a curl route very well read by CB Shields who intercepted the ball in the end zone for a touchback.
The 1st half of the 3rd quarter has been dominated by both defenses but the Seahawks have been able to break up this trend with one  of their typical ground and pund drive with some Wilson’s pass and this time the Seattle’s QB made a big one to Baldwin for a huge 3rd down conversion but later they have been stopped short of the end zone, when everyone expected an easy Haushka FG Carroll called a FG fake where the holder Ryan passed to the eligible o-lineman Gilliam that resulted in the 1st Seahawks TD of the game. GB got the ball at the beginning of the 4th quarter and they put up a good drive especially on the ground with both Lacy and Starks who made a key 32 yards run to enter in Seattle’s territory, once there Rodgers has been under an heavy pressure and he wasn’t able to find any free receiver so Mason Crosby came on to the field to kick a 48 yards FG to extend the Packs’ lead to 12 points. Trailing by 12 with 5:09 left in the game and the ball spotted nearly midfield Wilson wasted badly the chance to reduce the gap throwing another bad pass deflected in the air and finally intercepted by SS Morgan Burnett. Fortunately for Wilson his defense forced the Packers to a quick 3 and out and on the following drive they have been able to score due to the Wilson’s return to be effective on passing game that brought his team close to the end zone where on a read option the Seahawks QB kept the ball and took it across the line. Seattle tried an onside kick that resulted successful due to the huge mistake of Bostick who missed the catch and let the Seahawks special team to recover it. Seattle used at the best this gifted possession and scored the game ahead TD with a weak side run by Lynch after a drive full of running plays between Lynch and Wilson, after the score they went for the 2 points conversion successfully made by Willson who received a circus pass from his QB. Rodgers got the final chance to at least tie the game and they did with a 48 yards FG by Crosby that sent the game to the overtime after a very good drive by Rodgers on the air.
Wilson reborn in the OT with 2 straight passes to win the game, the 1st one to Baldwin on a fade to convert a 3rd and 6 then he saw a 0 coverage (without any Safety over the top) and he passed on a slot seem to WR Kearse covered 1 on 1 by LB Jones for the game winning TD.
In my opinion the Packers deserved to win due to the great all around performance, in fact GB offensively played a solid game against a very very tough defense thru difficult weather condition, a mix of heavy rain and wind, they have to regret to didn’t try a 4th down conversion on a 4th and 1, their passing game has been efficient despite the Rodgers’ calf injury that didn’t permit him to scramble, on the ground Lacy has been so good producing good gain in the majority of his runs. On defense GB made a very good job on Wilson especially containing him in the pocket with the exception of the OT and the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter, i saw also a good improvement against the running game even if Lynch had a good game.
Seattle offensively played an awful game especially on the air with Wilson who threw 4 interceptions but he improved so much on the last minutes of the game when he lead his team to the win, he received an huge help from both Lynch who had another impressive game in terms of production and WR Kearse who made some key receptions including the game winning TD. The major reason for their success over the Packers has been their defense who kept them alive put a limit on the damage provocated by the offensive turnovers, the only thing that they haven’t been effective has been the pass rushing due to the poor performances by Avril and Bennett.
The MVP of this game is Lynch who has been continuous for all game long keeping his offense alive even in very difficult moments of it.

NHL: Montreal Canadiens 6 NY Islanders 4 recap and analysis

The Habs started the game in a fast way forcing Strome to commit a tripping penalty and Subban score with a good shot from the blue line, Tavares tried to score with a dangerous shot from the slot then Pacioretty shot on an Islanders turnover stopped very Well by halak, 6:30 left the NYI PP produced no chances, Tavares at the end of the 1st quarter had a double chance on a miss handle pack by the habs defense but Halak stopped him twice. No true chances of score after the goal, teams so close on shots on goal during the 1st period. 2nd: 19:50 Weise goal on a redirected high speed pass by pacioretty right in front of halak, 11:30 Montreal PP but they had no chances due to very good Isles forecheck, 9:00 left Okposo's perfect on shot goal to score after a very Well designed and executed, very spectacular Tavares assist, 8:15 NYI pp that saw pacioretty short handed hit the post, later Habs tokarski G missed a pass that let Cizikas 1on 1 against him for a good chance to tie the game. 5:50 Montreal pp for tripping on thomas plekanec goal in pp in just few seconds. Kulemin goal 3:40 on a back hand shoot after an acrobatic on a Nelson assist. 3rd: another shocking start for the Habs that after just 0:52 galchenyuk scored on a wrist shot on a gallagher assist, less than 9 min to play desharnais scored an unassisted on a under the cross bar shot, plekanec with 6:18 left scored the 6th goal of the game for his team with a shot between the legs of halak after he faked a pass, Lee tried to put back on track his team with a perfect wrist shot under the cross bar from the high slot, Tavares ppg with 2:34 left kept the isles hopes alive Till nielsen commited a penalty on the prust who was launched to the empty net. The Isles got up a lil bit too late but it s normal to lose a difficult back to back game like this after an awesome win against the Penguins, for the Habs played really Well especially in PP situations and this is the way they need to play both offensively and defensively if they want to compete at high levels.

NFL: AFC Championship New England Patriots vs Indianapolis Colts matchup analysis

The Colts will travel to Foxbourgh aknwledge that they never beat the Pats with Andrew Luck as their QB but they know that their defense is playing a way better than it did during the regular season and along with the o-line improvements brought them here to the Championship game in one of the most difficult field in the NFL to play.
The keys offensively for the Colts are of course continue to be great and tough on the line of scrimmage, Andrew Luck must be patient because as always happened against Belichick defense he made huge mistake reading the trick coverages that he prepared to destroy the Colts' QB major points of strenght, Luck should attack even the players picked up by Revis just to avoid to be predictable, another aspect that they have to care about will be their running game because the NE's defense will be so aware of the passing game that will be vulnerable on the ground especially on shotgun's runs.
Defensively they have to keep doing what they did thus far in playoffs that means be tough with their 3
d-linemen against the typical Pats inside runs, not having a pure pass rusher they need a good group effort to put pressure on Brady even with blitzes due to the mediocre quality of the Pats o-line, S LaRon Landry that will probably be the man who will pick Gronkowski in the majority of the situations will need to play like he did against Julius Thomas one week ago with probably some help to stop the biggest threat of the Pats offense.
New England offense has to play more balanced than they did against Baltimore because the Colts defense maybe is worse than the Ravens one but it's a way more balanced that's why they will need a better running game at least to create chances of play actions something that Brady is a master to do, they also have to play with the 2 TEs on the field alternating them in blocking and receivng situations doing so they maybe would sacrifice some passes for Gronk using him in blocking but they will keep the Colts' defense completely uncertain of what Gronk's role will be.
On defense it's probable that they will play double coverage over  the top on Hilton with Browner on him on a press coverage on the line of scrimmage using his size advantage and on the other side they will put Revis on the veteran Reggie Wayne 1 on 1, their most important players on defense along with McCourthy and Revis  will be Collins and Hightower due to their pass rushing duties something that is so important to do when you will play against a team like the Colts who use their passing game as their major weapon.
My final result prediction is: Patriots 34 Colts 30 with Gronk as the MVP and Herron as the x-factor who could change the game.

NFL: NFC Championship Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers matchup analysis

This will be the rematch of the week 1 meeting that saw the Seahawks won 36-16 in a decisive way but a lot of things changed since that game especially the Packs defense who improved so much that's why i think it will be a closer one.
For GB offensively their success will depend so much on Rodgers health because his ability to scramble out of the pocket will be huge against a defense like the Seattle one who love to put pressure with their front 7 with massive blitzes especially on the interior because if he will able to gain time to pass the ball the pressure coverage outside will be unuseful and down field their WR have a good advantage against the Seahawks CB and counting the fact that SS Chancellor plays always close to the line of scrimmage this will leave them vulnerable to deep passes that Rodgers has been great to do in all this season, another very good way to attack the Seattle's defense will be screens and draws for Lacy, this will make the Seahawks' defense at least be cautious to put pressure on Rodgers with massive blitzes, to do all those stuffs they will need a very well organized o-line that will have to designed who will pick who during the massive blitzes because if not the results will be disastrous.
On defense the Packs will have to put Matthews in MLB position to stop the awesome power of Lynch, stopping Lynch will be the main key for them to win along with keep Wilson in the pocket and make him becoming a pure pocket passer something that against a very good secondary and pass rushing core will not give him so many chances to score and counting even that the Seahawks don't have a go to guy kind of player between their receivers that can make them huge plays to change the game.
Seattle offensively will have to run the ball with both QB and HB because the weakest point of the Packers defense and the running games is the best quality of their offense even due to a very good o-line lead by C Max Unger who will play despite his injury, run the ball with efficiency will open up play action passes that in my opinion is the best and safe way to attack the Packers secondary, they should rely on TE Willson for safe throws inside the numbers in case of 3rd and medium situations.
On defense the Seahawks have to attack the Packs rookie C Linsley and LT Bakhtiari that in my opinion are the weakest part of the entire GB's offense, to do that they will need a very good job by Avril and Bennett (he will play despite the injury), another player who will be under pressure and will  be called out for a great game will be FS (center field kind of Safety) Earl Thomas III that will have his hands full with Packers deep routes and this time he wouldn't rely just on his speed but he will need to read the in the best way possible the Rodgers choices because the accuracy of the Packers QB especially on deep passes doesn't give any chances to helps over the top.
My prediction for the final result is: Seahawks 25 Packers 27 with Rodgers as the MVP and Lynch as the x factor who could change the game.

Peyton Manning has to retire or not? analysis

After the elimination of the Denver Broncos at home in the divisional game against the Colts I hear a lot of rumors about Manning's retirement and his supposed inability to play at good levels anymore, that's why i decided to publish this article to explain my opinion about those red hot arguments that in a way or another should chance not only the future of the Broncos but the entire NFL.
Manning's last month of the season has been the 2nd worst of his entire career and the worst after his rookie season with 3 TDs and 6 interceptions but now we take a look of his stats during the entire season: at 38 years old, 16 out of 16 games played, 66.2 complete % on 597 attempts, 4727 yards passed with an AVG of 295.4 per game, 39 TDs and 15 interceptions with an 101. 5 rating. 2nd best in his career in yards passed and 3rd in TD passed counting that he had an awesome career characterized by numbers that none ever put up, that's the 1st point, he put up stats that the 99% of the QB will never reach. The 2nd point is his last bad month is it all his fault??? Well of course it's not, is accuracy numbers fell in the last period but it's even true that he played torn right quad something that could have an impact on his throwing mechanics, after all this about Manning let's talk about his o-line that has been make mixed and some of the players that plays into that changed role significantly before and during this season like RT Franklin who played LG or RG Vasquez who played RT, this should probably improved their running game but it had such a bad impact on their passing game especially on the right side who struggled in pass protection all season long. 3rd point is we are all habituated to hit great performances and numbers and especially after the last year that has been the best in the history for a QB we all pretend that kind of level and even after a great year like that there are some people that thinks he isn't good anymore, after all those personal stats i have to put at least some of his team: 12-4 in regular season having 1 of the hardest schedule in the NFL, he lead his team to score 58 TDs during the regular season tie at 1st place with the GB Packers, 2 of his WRs Sanders and D.Thomas are in the top 5 for yards received and 2nd overall in the NFL for team's total points just 4 behind the Packers.
I think that those numbers are enough to describe what he did, what he's doing and even what he could do even in next few years. I'm far to be a Broncos fan but i love to see Peyton Manning play and i think without any doubt that next year he'll come on the field and will shock the world once again because remember...NEVER COUNT MANNING OUT, his return after that devastating neck injury that seemed to close out his career still fresh in everyone's mind so don't count him out yet because he's that kind of player that control his own destiny and even if his arm is not powerful as it was he still has class over class over class and too much talent that make everyone's forget of that. In my opinion he can still play and most of all he can continue to do great.

NFL: Denver Broncos 13 Indianapolis Colts 24 recap and analysis

The Broncos score on their 1st possession of the game after a very slow start of the drive kept alive by a silly roughing the passer penalty by the LE A. Jones, since that moment Denver initially let run Anderson inside the tackles some times then Manning made 2 key passes 1 to Julius Thomas outside who took them close to the Colts end zone and 2 plays later Manning found Demaryius Thomas on a fade 1 on 1 against FS Landry for the 1st TD of the game. 2 drives later the Colts tied the game with a 73 yards drive characterized by 2 good receptions by Hilton for 2 very good gain especially the 2nd one on an IN route that shown his great quickness changing direction, once they arrived close to the Broncos end zone they scored on a HB toss well run by Herron. The Colts continue to be red hot forcing Manning to fumble the ball on around his 40 yard line due to a Newsome great play that allowed MLB J. Freeman to recover it. Indy didn't waste the opportunity to go ahead in the game and they chose right to do it with passes first with a Moncrief's very good catch to advance the ball and near the goalie they went to their TE on a stick route to score the game ahead TD. Broncos' offensive struggle continue and the Colts put up a decent drive that ended with a missed 44 yards FG by Vinatieri. After some minutes dominated by both defenses Luck seemed to have the last chance of the 1st half but he got intercepted by CB Roby who cut in front of the receiver and this gave Manning another chance to Manning & Co. that arrived on FG range to give a chance from the 45 yards to the K Barth who made it to cut the deficit for his team.
The Colts continue their positive trend scoring another TD after a very good drive with the majority of pass plays and the last of them has been a very precise 15 yards pass to WR Nicks in the end zone that put them ahead by 11 points, they have been able to do that thanks to their o-line who continued to keep their high performances. Manning finally got back a lil bit of his rhythm and along with Anderson who made a key conversion on the ground that kept the drive alive and lead his team to another FG made by Barth. The Colts re-estabilished the 2 possessions lead  with a very solid drive this time a more balanced 1 than the lasts and Vinatieri ended that it with perfect FG. Denver had the chance to get back into the game but their struggled continued and they fell in a 4th and long situation where Anderson received a pass from Manning but he has been blocked inches shy of the 1st down, that play essentially ended the Broncos season because the Colts managed the remaining time giving no chance to them to return in the game.
Denver continued in the same way they ended the last month of the regular season and the result has been a very well deserved loss that cost coach Fox and his stuff the job, on offense they played far away from their chances, their offensie line struggled against a team that really don't have a single pass rusher, Demaryius Thomas dropped too many costful ball, Manning hasn't been accurate as he should be and this time even CJ Anderson couldn't help the so much. Manning played with a quad injury that visibly limited him all game long but this isn't enough to explain this total offensive debacle. On defense they played a good game in my opinion especially against the runs but even defensively they missed some stuffs and the 1st one is the efficiency of their 2 best pass rushers Miller and Ware that after a good started they have been outplayed by the Colts offensive tackles.
Indy played a very good game without risk anything on offense in fact they didn't attempt long pass with the exception of the 1 that has been picked off by CB Roby but it was a particular situation of the game, very solid game by Luck who could rely on a great performance by his o-line that in my opinion receive the MVP trophy for this game. On defense the coverage on Broncos' receivers has been outstanding on both WRs and TEs proving that they can be physical enbough to match them up, remarkable job even by their 3 d-linemen that played tough against runs against 1 of the best running game in last period. This has been a very important win for them in a very difficult field to play in and they proved also that they can win even with their defense and not just with their explosive passing offense soemthing that just few fans should image before this playoffs started.

Packers vs Cowboys controversial calls analysis and discussions

I wanna let everyone know i'm not a fan of those 2 teams, i will just let the videos and the photos speak. So i'll try to analize those 2 calls impartially.
Let's analyze the most controversial call of this NFL season, the rule is clear the receivers has to keep the COMPLETE possession of the ball thru all the process. I've put both video and photo of the catch from multiple angles and i also put the the Megatron reversed TD in Chicago because i heard lots of people who compared the Bryant's catch to that 1 and thanks to this videos you can see easy that there is a main difference between those 2 catches, Megatron let the ball fall on the ground before he completed the catch process something the Dez didn't, in fact Bryant let just the ball move when he made the contact with the ground but it's clear that he has his arm under it thru all the process and this mean he has the complete possession of the ball, also his knee touch the ground in bound and at the moment it touched the turf the 2nd photo i posted show clearly he had the complete possession of the ball. After all of this i can't understand why the refs thought that he didn't have the complete possession maybe the lil bubble when he touched the ground fooled them and there isn't the evidence that the ball touched the ground so even if he didn't complete the catch there (but the ball didn't touch the ground) the ball still alive so what happened later (he completed the catch for the 2nd time) make this play a good 1. The main topic is there is no evidence that the ball touched the ground while he tried to get the complete possession and counting that it has been called a good catch on the field sounds so weird that they overturned them.

What about the Cobb's catch??? that essentially closed the game out in favor of the Packers...
Live and on the replay on TV i thought that this was a good catch but when i saw the video that i put at the bottom of this article i thought differently because it's clear from this angle that the ball touch the ground before Cobb got the complete possession of the ball and also we can see that used the turf to secure the ball on his hands. I really don't know why the refs didn't overturn this call especially after they overturned the call i analized earlier the catch no catch of Dez Bryant.

I think that the refs made 2 errors on those calls but it doesn't mean that the Packers cheated or they didn't deserve to win, i would like to see the Bryant call go on the other way then Rodgers with the ball on his hands to try to win the game on the last drive that should be the best way to end an awesome game ufortunately ruined by 2 huge mistake by the refs. By the way conratulations to both teams for the show they put up and it's sad that 1 of them had to be eliminated but those are the NFL playoffs, great but cruel at the same time.

NCAA football National Championship: Oregon Ducks 20 Ohio State Buckeyes 42 recap and analysis

Oregon started with the ball and they started fast with 2 straight out routes receptions with Mariota passing while he was rolling out of the pocket then they decide to test the inside part of the Ohio State defense with some dive runs on the A gap, once they arrived in the redzone Mariota delivered a perfect pass to Lowe who was free in the end zone, all of this happened after the mobile QB escaped the pressure, result of the read option fake. Ohio State answered their rivals 2 drives later with a 97 yards 1 played so much on the shotgun formation where they played lots of read options, some of them that resulted in passes to their WRs and some others in inside runs, the demise 1 has been the 33 yards run on a trap by HB Elliott. Oregon couldn't react due to a costly drop pass by Stanford on 3rd down so they have been forced to punt the ball to Ohio State that made a good return bringing the ball close to midfield area, once there they marched into the end zone alternating Elliott runs both inside and outside the tackles and Jones passes especially the 1 that out of a play action fake on a pistol formation has been received by Vannett in the end zone for the go ahead TD on an out route. Oregon offensive struggle continued and this gave the Buckeyes the chance to extend their lead and they seemed to could do it but once they arrived in Ducks' territory they lost the ball on a very bad decision by QB Jones on a read option play who fumbled the fumble trying to give his HB Elliott the ball with a late handoff. Oregon didn't take advantage of that mistake because even after a very convenient start of the drive full of Mariota's passes they slew down once close the end zone and they failed a 4th down conversion on a Mariota's run who fell just inches short of the TD. The Buckeyes put up another very good drive keep the balance between Elliott very good runs and Jones medium and long passes and 1 of those has been caught inside the Ducks redzone but fumbled by WR Smith. No signs of life by the Oregon offense so the Ohio State offense got the 3rd straight chance to increase their lead and this time they complete their target, they got the ball at midfield and a very precise Jones' pass to WR D.Smith brought them inside the Ducks 10 yards, they scored 3 plays later on a QB sneak by Jones who used his size to enter in the end zone. The Ducks returned to put points on the board with their last drive of the 1st half, a drive with so many problems from them due to the bad decisions by Mariota and some poor throws but at least they came out with 3 points.
The 2nd half started in the same way that the 1st ended, with OS in control offensively but again they turnovered the ball after a very good drive this time has been a Matthingly interception on a pass misshandled by WR Marshall. The other Marshall of the game Byron who plays for the Ducks received on a vertical seem from the slot a very good pass from Mariota that he took for 70 yards right in the end zone. The Buckeyes continued their turnover trend when on a 4h down conversion Jones fumbled the ball and lost the ball deep on their own territory. Again the OS defense came up big and limited them just to a FG. OS got back on track riding their HB Elliott who continued to be unstoppable and he ended up to the end zone on a read option outside run on his left using at the best the great block made by his entire o-line. The Buckeyes defense continue to do great and they let their offense put 2 complete possession between them and their opponents, Jones and Elliott put up another great drive that ended with the 3rd rushing TD by Elliott. Trailing with 2:50 left in the game Mariota missed the pass that would convert the 4th down inside their own 20 yards and this mistake essentially ended their chances to win.
Oregon after the 1st drive had huge offensive problems due to the Mariota's mediocre perfermance but it's not all his fault because he didn't have any help by the running game and this made him so predictable that OS played lot of nickle and dime formations to deal with his passing game, on defense the Ducks played bad especially against the inside runs in fact HB Elliott destroyed them right from the beginning of the game along with that issue they shown poor tackling especially on Jones in possible sack situation who cost them downs and yards all game long.
OS played a perfect game with the exception of the turnovers that kept Oregon in the game a way more than they should be, they also played with Jones who is actually the 3rd QB on the depth chart but he played like a true starter making good decisions and be so precise even on tight window passes along with him their defense played a tough game inside against the rush and a remarkable job to cover Lowe and Nelson outside, in my opinion the MVP of this game is the Buckeyes HB Elliott who ended with 4 TDs and a really great performance in terms of decisions, speed, power and i also can't remember him to lose yards on a play, of course a good part of his success owns to the entire o-line who dominated the quick Ducks' front 7 right from the beginning.

NFL: Green Bay Packers 26 Dallas Cowboys 21 recap and analysis

The Packers stroke 1st with a 3rd down receiving TD in the back of the end zone by TE Quarless after a drive completely dominated by Lacy with his ground and pound. The Cowboys reacted quickly with a very balanced drive full of short plays with good gaining once they arrived on GB 1 yard line the FB Clutts received the ball on a flat route and took it in the end zone untouched to tie the game at 7. GB founded a better Dallas defense on the following drive especially against the runs but either way the arrived in FG but once there they turnovered the ball due to an anticipated snap by the Center who put Rodgers in a very bad situation where he fumbles the ball on a sack and Mincey came out with the pigskin. Dallas punished GB for their mistake scoring a TD with Williams who received a short pass and due to poor tackling he has been able to run down field and score the game ahead TD. Dallas seemed to have the last chance of the 1st half when Romo lead his team right to the FG range, once there the Packs defense made a key stop and forced K Bailey to came on the field to kick a FG but unfortunately for them the Packers special team blocked it to give their offense a good field position to Rodgers & Co. to start their drive, with 1:30 left in the clock Rodgers made a completion to Cobb that took them in the FG range where Crosby kicked a good 1 to end the 1st half.
The 2nd half ended in a such a bad way for the Cowboys because Murray fumbled on their own territory, fortunately for them their defense cameout big and limited the Packers to just a FG. Dallas didn't stop running the football and on the very next drive they marched down the field alternating Romo safe passes to Murray explosive runs and it has been 1 of those runs that took the ball across the goaline to go ahead by 8 points. Trailing by 8 the Packers marched down field with a lot of passes especially short ones outside the numbers  on curl and comeback routes, once they arrived at Dallas 46 yard line they made another of them to WR Adams who made Church miss the tackle and score a very important TD for his team. The Cowboys struggled on offense gave the chance to the Packs to go ahead and they took advantage of it with another great drive ended with TE Rodgers who caught a gutsy pass by Rodgers in a tight window between 2 Cowboys defenders in the back of the end zone. The Cowboys had their chance to win the game but on a 4th down conversion apparently caught on the Packs 1 yard line but finally reversed due to the McCarthy challenge (1st challenge won by the Packs this season). Finally Rodgers close the game out with a 3rd down pass to Cobb who made a controversial reception tp end up the Cowboys chance.
Dallas played a good game, they paid the mistakes like the blocked FG and the Murray's fumble, a part of that Romo played a very good game in my opinion and also unpredictable because he targeted nearly every receiver he had, very good game too even for Witten who has been a great weapon to attack the inside part of the Packs defense, on defense if we don't count the 1st drive the front 7 has been outstanding to both stop the runs and put pressure on Rodgers, by the way they need to fix great problems on their secondary who has not been continuous all game long.
Green Bay fought all game long with a Rodgers injury that precluded him to scramble out of the pocket but even like a pure pocket passer he made serious damage to the Cowboys defense, especially on 2nd half he has been outstanding even due to the great performance by WR Cobb. On defense the choice to put Matthews in the MLB spot helped them to limit the damages that Murray should do and along with a secondary who has been remarkable especially on Dez Bryant who has been covered by a well designed double coverage all game long.
Unfortunately this great game has been partially ruined by a bad call by the refs on the Dez Bryant 's reception that should change the final result, i think that it was a good reception because i didn't lose the control of the football during the process and even when i bubbled it he was inbound but the refs thought differently because they said he didn't have the complete possession of the ball when he fell on the ground.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks 31 Carolina Panthers 17 recap and analysis

After a pair of drives for both teams completely dominated by the defenses the Seattle seemed to could score on a drive initiated by a Sherman interception on a deep ball intended for Benjamin, after that TE Willson received a good pass by Wilson for a good gain, Lockett seemed to put them on FG range but he made a stupid penalty who deleted that chance, Carolina for the ball and when they got it the fumbled it with Stewart on a bad read by Newton on a read option who exposed his HB to RE Bennett who stripped the ball out of him to give his team an awesome field position something that open up the 1st TD of the game scored by WR Baldwin from the slot on a well executed play action who caught unprepared the rookie FS. Carolina answered back immediately with a drive characterized by the double trouble runs in fact Williams gave a change of pace to his offense especially on draws and sweeps that has been so effective and alternating the 2 HBs runs they came close the the Seattle's end zone where they scored few plays later on a quick slant by rookie WR Benjamin who use perfectly his physical skills. Seattle gave no time to cheer to Carolina and Wilson delivered a perfect pass to WR Kearse on a crossing route for a 63 yards strike right to the end zone to regain the lead. The Panthers cut the deficit on their last chance of the 1 half with a balanced drive that alternated inside runs (by both QB and RBs) with inside passes especially to TEs that ended with a Gano FG (good at the 3rd attempt due penalties on previous 2 attempts).
After over 10 minutes completely dominated by both defenses Seattle found the way to arrive in FG range due to powerful runs by both Lynch and Turbin along with Wilson short passes so useful to convert some downs, doing that they let Haushka to score 3 points by a 37 yards FG. The Panthers haven't been able to react and this gave the Seahawks a chance to put 2 possession of distance between them and their opponents, Wilson to Willson combination has been the main factor in that drive, 1st with a 29 yards reception after he broke a too high tackle and then he did the same but this time he took the ball in the end zone. The Panthers built a very good drive being so good and fast to advance down the field but once arrived on Seahawks redzone Newton wasted everything made till that moment missing the timing with his TE Dickson on a curl route who has been picked off and returned for a TD by SS Chancellor who ended the Panthers season. Unuseful the Benjamin TD on another very good drive by the Panthers offense.
The Panthers offensively made good job alternating their HBs in certain parts of the game and this has been the major reason why their offense has not be continuous al game long, their gameplan has been good but the execution has not been great especially on bad read on read options but most of all they didn't take enough care of the ball and they Seahawks defense made them pay for it so bad. On defense they shown that they have an elite front 7 even without Hardy but they need to improve so much on their secondary especially on CB position because they shown a lack of coverage in lots of situations.
The Seahawks offense shown that they have a new weapon in TE Luke Willson who played a great end of the regular season and he is also the MVP of this game because he provided a new dimension to this offense, their defense made the same great job that they did in last 10 games and along with the 12th man they played an huge role in the Seattle's win.

NFL: New England Patriots 35 Baltimore Ravens 31 recap and analysis

As always when he win the coin toss Belichick decided to kick the ball, Baltimore put up an impressive drive with all passes and just 1 short run, in fact Flacco decided to alternate short and medium distance passes in multiple situations and formations, he has been so effective on paly action fakes and has been a play action pass to WR Aiken from a power formation who caught the entire Pats defense by surprise and gave the 1st TD of the game to the Ravens. Great start also by the Ravens defense who stop the Pats easy and gave their offense a chance to increase their lead and they did with a very good catch by Steve Smith in the end zone on a slant route after a very well coached drive that shown more balance than the 1st one but explained everyone where the Pats are vulnerable, inside the numbers their passing defense left too many free zones and chances to receive the ball.
Great reaction by the Pats on the following drive especially with 2 long Gronk receptions who took them close to the Ravens end zone and on a 3rd down Brady took the ball on the end zone by himself on a clever run force by the overload side blitz by the Ravens who left the left side completely uncovered and Brady took advantage of it. After some minutes dominated by both defense the Pats tied the game with a drive full of his typical Bray short passes and Amendola received 1 of them on an out route from the slot to score the game tying TD. With less than 2 minutes left Brady got the chance to get their 1st lead of the game but he wasted it at midfield trying to find Gronk on a seem but he got picked by MLB Smith who read it perfectly, Flacco didn't waste his chance and along with a Revis pass interference he has been able to get close to the Pats end zone and once there he found TE Owen Daniels on a seem in the end zone even if he has been well covered by Hightower.
Good stop by the Ravens defense to begin the 2nd half and that gave the possession of the ball to Flacco who again killed the Pats defense this time with outside passes  the best 1 on a 4th and 6 to find T.Smith close to the NE's end zone despite a pass interference but they cameback by 15 yards due to a taunting call and on the very next play Forsett received and scored a TD on a flat route. Brady cut the deficit on the following drive with another drive full of passes especially with seems to TEs and out routes to his WRs, they finally found Gronk in the end zone on a quick slant. Baltimore got stopped quickly and NE tied the game on the very next play with beautiful trick play faking an outside screen to Edelman who received it and then passed it down the field for a 51 yards TD by Amendola who was alone on a vertical route. Flacco snap his 186 consecutive postseasons passes without get picked when he missed the pass to T.Smith on an out route and McCourthy punished him but fortunately for the Ravens the Pats cameout with nothing. Baltimore changed his offensive strategy with good results running the ball the majority of the snaps but they fell a lil bit short of the end zone and they regained the lead with a Tucker's short yardage FG. The Pats fought back after an infinite numbers of short passes they went deep on a vertical route to WR LaFell to score the TD that gave them the 1st lead of the game with 5 minutes left. Flake seemed to win the game for his team but he made an huge mistake passing the ball deep to T.Smith but D.Harmon intercepted him in the end zone, NE chewed nearly all the clock out and gave the time just for an hail mary that has been deflected to the ground by S McCourthy.
Baltimore played great for 3 an a half quarters on both offense and defense but Flacco unpatience killed them, if he would continue to play safe i m sure they would win this game.
New England shown another time that this year the have the letter D on their DNA and this kept them alive on a very difficult game when their offense struggled more than usually do that's why i give to the "jolly" McCourthy the MVP trophy of this game.
