NFL: Denver Broncos 20 Cincinnati Bengals 17 OT recap and analysis
The home team started with the ball but the first team to has has been Cincinnati on their opening drive thanks to a brilliant start of McCarron who missed anything and drove his team with precise passes to his WRs right close to the end zone where he found Green who made an unbelievable catch on a fade 1 on 1 against Talib to score the first TD of the game, Bengals defense continue to do very well and stop the Broncos offense thanks to a very good pass rushing along with a solid defense against the runs especially inside the tackles, so their offense got another chance to score with a great field position to start the drive and they used it in the best way possible scoring other 7 points, this time on a well designed outside run by Sanu from the wildcat formation. Cincinnati had also the chance to put 3 possessions between them and their rivals but after another good drive by McCarron on the air Nuggets missed a 45 yarder giving Osweiler the first good position to start a drive in this game and struggling passing short he tried to go deep and he did right finding Sanders on a deep seem alone due to a miss coverage by CB Kirkpatrick, the drive continue with short runs and screens that didn't allow them to score a TD and Cincy's defense got the job done giving up just 3 points in a difficult situation to end the first half.
Broncos reaction arrived in their first drive of the second half on a no huddle drive by Osweiler on the air, their o-line have been so good in pass protection and give so much time to their QB to find an open target so they have been able to score their first TD of the game on a double slot formation who fooled the defense who went on Thomas and left Sanders alone in the end zone. The offenses stayed quiet till the start of the 4th quarter when the Broncos go the ball at midfield thanks to a good punt return by Norwood, then HB C.J. Anderson brought it in the end zone on a shotgun cut back run who beat the Bengals defense running down the sideline. Macaroni found a way to give his team the tie despite the ferocious pressure that the Broncos' passrsusher provided to him, he did that targeting often his WRs Green and Jones and they moved the ball in FG range where Nugent scored other 3 points. Inside the 2 minutes warning Osweiler went twice to his TE Daniels who provided 2 key receptions that brought them in FG where McManus missed the game winning FG from the 45 yard line. In the OT Denver started with the ball and thanks to a balanced drive arrived in FG where McManus redeemed himself making the game winning FG, game winning because on the other side McCarron fumbled a snap and it has been recovered by Ware for a key Broncos win.
