NFL: Arizona Cardinals 38 Green Bay Packers 8 recap and analysis

America's game of the week from the University of Phoenix Stadium between two great teams, the first quarter has been a scoreless one shocking myself that i expected an high score even in the first frame but the game gifted emotions especially on man to man coverage and puss rushing where the Cards continues their trend of excellence in that department. The home team scored the first TD of the game at the beginning of the second quarter after a great drive moving the ball on the air and ended on a slot slant by Fitzgerald in the end zone. The Cards had another chance to score a TD but this time the Packs defense stood up great in the goalie and stopped Johnson twice once on the ground and once on the air forcing Catanzaro out on the field to kick a short FG. Green Bay had the chance to cut the deficit thanks to their first good drive of the game but Rodgers pick 6 in the end zone trying to get Jones well reader and covered by Bethel gave the Cardinals the last chance of the first half to score and they did thanks to a sensational performance by Floyd who had 2 big catches, the first on a slant that brought them to the Packs 20 yard line and later on this drive Palmer found John Brown on a quick slant in the end zone to score his second TD pass of the game.
The second half started badly for the Pckers who saw all the fury of the Cardinals defense in matter of pass rushing, in fact after just 47 seconds Johnson scored a 14 TD run after the defense forced a turnover, another turnover, a fumble has been returned few minutes later by Redding for a TD. The Cards' defense took off and they punished hard Rodgers and his offense, when Powers returned a fumble for TD the game essentially ended and at the beginning of the fourth quarter Rodgers and Palmer have been removed from the game.

Arizona dominated the game thanks to a ferocious defense who came close to the double digit of sacks, along with a very good coverage down field the result has been great for them being projected at the top rank of the NFL, the opposite happened to the Packers who shown all their limits in matter of o-line and get free from the man to man coverage with the WR along with a soft defense against runs, they will have less than 2 weeks to fix it or at least limit the damages that today have been huge. The only good signs of this game for them came from Lacy and James Jones who seemed in very good shape but they need to provide a decent protection to Rodgers if they want to have a chance to compete for the SB.

MVP: Entire Cardinals defense
