World Series Game 7 Royals 2 Giants 3 recap

Game 7, game 7 is the game...the game that every baseball fan lives for and if this happen in the World Series is the most exciting thing in all of season. I didn't agree on the managers choice to start Hudson and Guthrie, with Boachy because he should start Bumgarner even in a short rest and after 5 go with a really good bullpen, about Yost i think that Guthrie would never been good enough to give him the trust to get a start in a game 7 of the WS, i would go with Shields on a short rest even if he wasn't pitching great or with the young Danny Duffy who pitched great out of the pen. The game started fast with the 2-0 advantage of the Giants that has been nearly perfect when the leadoff batter reached base during all playoffs, this time Sandoval and Pence lead the SF's assault, in the bottom part of the inning reacted great with Butler and Gordon's great at bat gave KC the tie, Hudson got 2 records yesterday ( oldest WS starter and shortest start in a WS game since 1960 ). Guthrie by th3 way didn't play better and left the game with runners at the corners in the top part of the 4th inning and 1 out, Herrera came out of the bullpen great but he wasn't able to avoid the 3-2 avantage by SF on a sac fly. By that point the game has been completely dominated by the bullpens, none has really been able to went near to score with the exception of the bottom part of the 9th with Perez at bat and a man on 3rd base but Bumgarner has been too good for everyone in this playoffs and Perez made no exception. Bumgarner and Affeldt played nearly 8 inning together in a fantastic way, because just in that way they should keep SF ahead with one of the best trio ever in bullpen, Herrera, Davis and Holland played a great game too and they've been the strongest part of the Royals this season. The MVP of this game has been the same of the NLCS and the same of the entire WS...Madison Bumgarner who completely deserved it.

Pittsburgh Steelers 51 Indianapolis Colts 34 recap

This game has been great for the offense's lovers, both team shoked the game predictions scoring a way over their averages, especially the Steelers lead by a double Steelers' record breaking Big Ben Roethlisberger with 6 TD passes and 552 yards. Indy went ahead with a FG right after one of the numberous Hilton's big plays, Pittsburgh reacted great with a Marcus Heaton receiving TD on a missed zone coverage by Indy's defense. After the 1st drive the Steelers' defense became more aggressive with blitzes all over the line of screemage, LeBeau Knowledge of blitz changed the game in better for Pittsburgh that has been able to stop Luck a way more than other teams have done weeks before. The Steelers took off with the 2nd straight week's TD by the rookie WR Bryant and with the interception returned in TD by William Gay on a bad throwing decision by Luck. Colts defense played ba with missing time on a blitz, bad coverage down field and they shown a bad pass rush group too, all of this open up big plays for the Steelers especially for Antonio Brown who has been great as always to use Ben's greatest quality to keep plays alive. Colts have been able to cameback in the game with the Steelers struggle in the 2nd half and 2 fumble; the 1st by Heyward-Bey that lead the big play on a throw by Luck to Moncrief and the other by Blount near the Indy's end-zone on a 42-34 score situation, i think at the point Pittsburgh was in trouble and near to get reached by the Colts but Steelers defense came out big and forced Luck to an intentional grounding penalty in the own end zone that provocated a safety and gave Pittsburgh 2 point and the ball back, that esentially closed the game out.

Remembering Oscar Taveras 19/6/1992-26/10/2014

He wasn t just a boy who had my age, he wasn t just a Cardinals player, he wasn t just a phenom, he wasn t just a Great clubhouse guy, he wasn t just a dad and a son...he was a member of our Big family and we didn t just lost a player but a young member of it. I admit that i was been a lil bit hard with all youngster with the exception of wacha, it was because in my mind the standards i pretended especially from him were huge, huge like his talent, i was really confident that he would be the New dominican who would be able to give US other rings and this is sad because his dream got broken in a fatality. When i saw him play the first mlb game i added him in my fantasy team and got him a start the week after that i won thanks to his performance in Sunday s game . He played every game with the triple quantity of others' player pressure and in a half of season he gave US Lot of Great elettrifying moments, the homer against SF drove me Crazy literally. I would like to remember him with a smile and also think that he s not gone but the Angels robbed us by another Great phenom  see you number 18...see u next season in baseball heaven right next to stan the help us to reach number 12!!! :")

NHL 22/10/14 games predictions

Philadelphia Flyers @ Pittsburgh Penguins / Pittsburgh / over 5,5
The Flyers are not playing well at all ut they still have a good team lead by the phenom Claude Giroux and i guess this game will be an high scoring one as it happen so frequently in last years, Pitts has a geat lineup who looks in a good shape even if they played just 4 game but most of all at home the are a true force even counting that Flyers are coming from a game in Chicago last night and they ll be a lil bit tired.

Washington Capitals @ Emonton Oilers / Wash / under 5,5
The Caps are undefeated in regulations and i think they will remain at the end of this game, Edmonton didn't look good at all in first games of this season and Oveckhin is playing great, that means everyone in that line plays good hockey that's a huge advantage for the Caps.

Buffalo sabres @ Anaheim Ducks / Ana / under 5,5
My prediction is for a blowout in favor of the Ducks, they are too much better than their rival right now hard to think of an upset.

Pittsburgh Steelers 31 Houston Texans 23 recap

The Texans started strong the monday night, earlier with the first career TD of Alfred Blue that has been thrown by Fitzpatrick, also the defense begin in a great way, Mercilus forced a fumble that the amazing and mr everything on a football firld JJ Watt recovered, Houston hasn't been able to capitalize the initial mistakes of Pittsburgh, O-line lead by the pro bowlers Myers at center and Duane Brown at LT gave initially a good avantage to the Texans that with an Healty and great Foster who has been able to read perfectly every hole that Myers and Co. have been able to open in Pitts' defense, finally the Steelers have been able to react and limit houston to 2 FGs. With Houston ahea 13-3 at the end of the 2nd Quater the game changed in a shocking way, Pittsburgh scored with a big play on a play-action for a Receiving TD (1st of his young career) of the 4th round pick of 14's draft Martarius Bryant, play-actions have been so effective because Texans defense paid lot of attentions to LeVeon Bell who has been limitated to just 54 yards and 12 carries. Right after 1st Pittsburgh TD Daniel Manning missed to control on a kick return situation and made his team start from their own 4 yards, Houston didn't come out of that situation and gave back the ball to the Steelers that scored on a beautiful designed trick play by coach Mike Tomlin that has been finshed by the WR Brown throw a TD pass to Lance Moore thanks to a great block by Big Ben. Hoston totally stunned after that made another huge error with Fitzpatrick throw an interception right on hte hands of Keisel who played a great all around game, Pittsburgh scored again with a bell's receiving TD and finished the half ahead 24-13. The 2nd half has been totally dominated by the Steelers who managed the game especially with great play action duo Big Ben to Antonio Brown who destroyed Steelers' secondary with his speed and changes of pace. Fitzapatrick in my idea is not a starting QB in the NFL and Houston must find a better choice at QB position if they really want to compete at high levels. Too many errors on this game by both sides, Steelers capitalized it better and they won. MVP of the game Brett Keisel for me.

MLB World Series 2014 KC Royals vs SF Giants predictions

The 2 underrated teams in the championship series advanced to the WS in different ways, KC dominated the series and they took the control of the games in the early part and with the great bullpen that they've for the O's has been impossible to win those games, the only game that  Baltimore put in difficulties KC's bullpen has been game 1 but they didn't capitalized it. The Giants beat the Cards 4-1, it has been a controversial series that saw the Cards blow everything that they could in the worst way possible, Giants starters played good in the series against STL with the exeption of Vogelsong that in my opinion should be replaced by Petit in WS who picthed great as long reliever in past 3 series.
The Royals enter in this series undefeated and with the home field advantage are my favorite team to win the Title, by the way the Giants postseason experience and their starting pitchers should give KC lot of problems. KC must find a lil bit more power than they shown in last series because against Giants pitching stuffs will be hard to make lot of good contacts so they'll need more extra base hits, they also need to be ahead at the end of the first 6 frames to let the amazing trio Herrera Davis and Holland to shut the door, also run hard and fast will be an huge factor for the Royals that will face a great Catcher on the plate but not so great behind it and maybe this will allow them to run wildely during the series. SF has an advantage at the plate with the big 3 Posey Sandoval and Pence coming up a great series against STL and they've a good bullpen to match the KC's one.

POSITIONS MATCHUPS

C: Posey over Perez
1B: Hosmer over Belt
2B: a surprising Panik over Infante
SS: Escobar over Crawford who can't hit
3B: Tie between Sandoval and Mustakas both great in all playoffs
LF: Gordon over Ishikawa
CF: an amazing Cain over Blanco
RF: Pence over Aoki
DH: Butler over a not healty Morse
SPs: i give Giants a lil bit advantage over the Royals
M and L RP: Petit lead the Giants in this category over the Royals
SU: Davis and Herrera over Affeldt and Romo
CL: Holland over Casilla

I think KC will win the title over SF 4-2 and Hosmer will be the MVP

Dallas Cowboys 31 NY Giants 21 recap

After Week 7, we can say one thing for sure : the Dallas Cowboys are for real ! Yes Cowboys fans, this is maybe the year, and a return to the postseason is finally coming. Tony Romo and his WR were always good, but for the 2014 season, some things are way different from the last couple of seasons. First of all, DeMarco Murray is maybe with Phillip Rivers the best offensive player for the first 7 weeks, and on sunday against the division rival New-York Giants, the former RB of the university of Oklahoma was once again superb, running for 128 yards in 28 carries. Murray is the first player in NFL history to start a season with 7 straight games of 100 or more rushing yards, and a thing that we can say is that Murray take advantage a lot of the Dallas offensive line, which is composed of young and high drafted player like Zack Martin, Zach Frederick or Tyron Smith. Because of the efficiency of Dallas running game and because of the quality of the Cowboys line, Tony Romo has the time to throw to his targets, one of them Dez Bryant, one of the top 5 best WR in the NFL, who catch 9 balls from Romo for 151 yards. Romo, the former Eastern Illinois QB is now very effective and on sunday he passes for 279 yards and 3 TD, two of them to Gavin Escobar, the SDSU product. The defense of the Dallas is also a big change this season, with the plays of unknown players like Rolando McClain, Justin Durant or Orlando Scandrick. On the Giants side, Eli Manning was not so bad, completing a good % of his passes and finding the end zone 3 times. Without their 2 best offensive weapon, Victor Cruz and Rashad Jennings, New-York were looking for boost from other players and they got that by their rookies. For example, Odell Beckham JR caught 2 TD passes and he’s now the best option in the red zone for Eli Manning. The former Ole Miss players can also count with Andre Williams, the rookie RB out of Boston College who was not so bad against this very good Dallas defense. One thing to not is that the Giants D was really not so bad against this superb attack of Jason Garrett, with players like Prince Amakamura or Jacquan Williams, who where good but couldn’t answer the rhythm of Dallas attack.
Dallas now owns the best record of the NFL and they will stay at home for their game next monday against the Redskins of Washington. The Giants will not play in Week 8 and they will host the Colts in Week 9.

Chicago Bears 14 vs Miami Dolphins 27 recap

Well, when we think that the Bears season seams to finally begin, the team from the Illinois surprise us in a real bad way with an awful performance the week after. After a big win in Atlanta last sunday, where Jay Cutler, Matt Forte and the Bears defense was superb, they were at home for Week 7 to play against the Miami Dolphins, who lost a thriller at home to the Green Bay Packers of Aaron Rodgers. The Bears where looking for a good performance by Cutler, who on the paper is a better QB than Ryan Tannehill, the 3rd year man out of Texas A&M. But, for at least one game, Tannehill looked like an All-Star QB, completing is first 14 passes and helping the Dolphins took an early lead. The Miami QB was finding his big targets early, especially Mike Wallace, « Ocean 11 », who caught a nice TD from Tannehill, just after a Charles Clay TD in the 1st quarter. Tannehill was really helped by his offensive line, who controlled really well Willie Young and Jarod Allen, the two best sackers on the Chicago side. This offensive line maked also a lot of damage for Lamar Miller, who run the football really hard and score a big TD in the 3rd. The Miami QB add a new weapon to his game that make him more dangerous : he can run the football, and at Soldier Field on sunday, the Texas guy run 6 times for 48 yards, one of them to pick a huge 1st down late in the game. So, Miami did what they have to do to win this football game, but one thing is sure, the Chicago Bears didn’t do that yesterday. Jay Cutler was not very good that’s what we can say, Alshon Jeffery was a ghost and even Brandon Marshall had trouble with the Dolphins backs. In fact and I think nobody could predict that : the Dolphins duo of WR, make by Wallace and Jarvis Landry outdueled maybe the best WR duo of the NFL, the Bears one of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, who caught just 8 passes for 57 little yards. Matt Forte was once again the best player on the field for Mike Trestman crew, simply because he’s good both on the ground and on the air, with 49 yards on the ground for the TD and 60 yards on the air with also a TD. But Forte runs the football just 12 times and that’s the problem, because when Cutler throws too much he gave the ball to the opposite defensive backs. Brandon Marshall, the long time teammates of Cutler was very frustrated after this game, saying that this loss was « unacceptable ».
With both Green Bay and Detroit winning on sunday, it’s really time to wake up in Chicago locker room, and next week they have a difficult game at Gilette Stadium against the New England Patriots. The Dolphins will look to continue their assault to the postseason in a battle for the crown of the state of Florida, as they go to Jacksonville to play Blake Bortles and the Jaguars, who just won their first game of the season against the Browns.

Denver Broncos 42 SF 49ers 17 recap

This has been a game heavly conditionated by the absence of 3 9ers' linebackers, especially the best coverage duo in MLB position Willis out with a toe injury and Bowman out with a leg injury, the replacements has been good enough to stop Broncos' offense, slant route and post have been a huge factor and 9ers defense has never been able to stop them. Emanuel Sanders scored the 1st TD ofthe game and he looks so good for Denver, his arrive provided them a good upgrade of speed. Denver Defense started strong and limited SF just to a 51 yards FG try that has been missed by Dawson. Manning show continued without any problems with a TD pass to Welker to tie Favre's record at 508 career TDs then he beated the record with a perfect throw to Demaryius Thomas. Manning escalation of TDs killed a game that never really started, Miller and Ware completely owned the 9ers O-line proving that they are a really dominant duo on both sides and when a QB try to escape one of them he'll find the other right there ready to take him down. Steve Johnson played another good game in SF's uniform, passing game is the only acceptable thing saw in 9ers side in last games, they are not able to run anymore Gore and Hyde have been limitated for the 2nd straight week and Killgore injury is not a goo news to improve it. On Broncos' side everything seems to be great: the defense has been upgrated in offseason successfully even on the field (ward, talib and ware the best pieces), the offense is the perfect machine that dominated last season, Hillman has been a pleasurable surprise for them replacing Montee Ball he proved to be a good backup. After this game everything we can say to Denver is keep doing this, exactly the opposite of what we can say to SF.

lunedì 20 ottobre 2014

Peyton Manning historical night

Before last night's game against the 9ers Peyton needed 3 TDs to break all time record for most TD pass in career, a record that has been hold by just 5 QBs in the history, the last one has been Brett Favre who gave Manning all his congratulations. Manning just didn't break Favre's record but he put up a great night with 318 yards and 4 TDs and no interceptions. The TD who broke the record has been catched by Demaryius Thomas on a "out route" oustide on the right side on the field (one of the favorite for him oh the TE Julius Thomas). Right after break the record Manning go to the bench tryin to know bettter the 9ers defense and how they react, this is the way he approach his game no matter what he stays always cool enough to be ready for everything he ll see. Is not a secret that the only way to try to limit him his put pressure just with the line because he's the best to kill defense on blitzing situations but despite this none seems able to stop him. After a probable career ending surgery 3 years ago he cameback better than even breaking records on records the biggest one 55 TD pass in a single season. He's not just the great player you can see on the field but he a lil bit a WRs coach, a lil bit an O-line coach, a lil bit an offensive coordinator...after all of this his knowledge of the game and his mania for lil details make him the best QB in NFL history in my opinion. I hope you'll play for more and more years, always a pleasure to watch you play Mr. 510 an counting...

NE Patriots 27 NY Jets 25 recap

For the 3rd year in a row, Rex Ryan went into Foxboro to play against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots on a Thursday Night Football game. Coming off a good road win in Buffalo last sunday, the Pats were looking to take care of the struggling Jets, who were losers of 5 games in a row. This game was also really special for Darrelle Revis, the former Jets, who was facing his former team for the 1st time since they traded him to Tampa Bay before last season. « Revis Island », the 5 time Pro-Bowler was the big offseason acquisition in Massachusetts, with the role to cover big opponent WR, and on Thursday this guy was Eric Decker, the best WR on the Jets squad. Without Stevan Ridley, the Pats were looking to get a huge performance by the arm of Tom Brady, with Shane Vereen to get some production on the running game. And on the 1st drive, that combination worked perfectly, with Vereen receiving a 49 yard bomb by Brady in the end zone. Brady was very good last night, completing 20 passes for 261 yards and 3 TD, two of them to Shane Vereen. The Michigan Wolverines product was finding his top targets, like Brandon LaFell who had 4 receptions, like his old reliable TE Rob Gronkoswki who catches 4 balls too and like Julian Edelman, Brady’s top targeted option who had a decent game with 4 grabs but who drop some balls. Vereen and the rookie from Notre Dame Jonas Gray took care of the running game, with 55 earned yards in 14 carries. Danny Amendola, one Brady's top WR last year catched his 1st pass since a while and scored an important TD late in the game, to make this game an 9pt contest. Yes that was an important TD, and that because the Jets played a good game, highlighted by their running game, in particular Chris Ivory, the former Saints. The Texas native destroy the New England defensive line, running for 107 yards in 21 carries and a scored a TD in the 3rd quarter to give them the lead (19-17). Chris Johnson was also good and productive, with 61 yards in just 13 runs : in fact, the Jets run for 218 big yards in this AFC East showdown. Geno Smith, the struggling second year QB out of West Virginia was really not bad, completing 20 of 34 passes for 226 yards and 1 TD, to Jeff Cumberland in the 4th quarter. Smith runs also for 37 yards and really benefit from the great running game to stay in this game late, but he was not able to complete the 2 points conversion to Amaro. The Jets had a chance to win, with Nick Folk, their kicker who had a shot at a 58 yard field goal, but the kick was blocked by New England, who won 27 to 25.
The Patriots are now 5-2 on the season and they are on the top of the AFC East. The Jets have after Week 7 a record of 1 victory for 6 loses. They will look to end this 6 game losing streak in two weeks in Kansas City : yes, Rex Ryan will have a tone of work to do in the next few days. Brady and New England will stay at home next week, and they will host Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears.

St. Louis Rams 17 SF 49ers 31 recap

The Rams started very well with a TD on very first drive ended with a Cunningham rushing TD from 1 yard line, SF tried to tie the game with 3 straight passes but the last one has been fumbled by the TE Mcdonald and recovered by James Laurinaitis who lead to a Rams' drive that ended with TD pass from Austin Davis to Kendricks. Thus far the Rams has been great to mix the offensive personal on the field to confuse and took off lot of aggressivness from 9ers defense, when the first half seemed to be over with a scoreless SF team Kaepernick came up big with an 80 yards strike to Lloyd that gave them the 1st 7 points of the game.
The 2nd half has been a completely different game with the 9ers that totally dominated it with a great performance by Kaepernick who finished the game with 328 yards and 3 TDs and well protected by the O-line especially by Staley who shutdown a veru good pass rusher like Robert Quinn, SF also got a TD ending game returning an interception thrown by a struggling Davis in all 2nd half, the fornt 7 of St Louis played strong even helped by a struggling running game by the 9ers all game long but the secondary actually prooved that it isn't good enough to stop a well designed pass offense like the 9ers one that put on their knees a struggling Jenkins and Co. with corner routes and double moves. Dan Skuta played such a very good game and lead SF's defense to limit the Rams just to a FG by Zurlhein in all 2nd half.

Oakland Raiders 28 SD Chargers 31

This has been an harder win for the Chargers than anyone would expect at the beginning of the game thanks to the career best game for the duo Carr-Holmes.
The Chargers fell behind with a 77 yard strike from Carr to holmes than Rivers took the Chargers ahead with 2 TD throws to Royals first than Floyd who cameback from the terrible neck injury in the best way he could do it. Oakland answer back with 2 straight TD's later the bolts got the tie with a TD catch by the great Antonio Gates who is chasing multiples all time records, another TD by the Holmes to complete an huge game for him and his QB and that TD seemed to take the game in Oakland's direction, but the Rivers under coach McCoy is playing like the Chargers always wanted and expected and that's what he did even this time and with an huge help by their defense who finally found the way to stop Carr and gave him the chance to make the last drive that has been finished with the TD of the till surprising Brandon Oliver that gave the Chargers the final lead of the game.
Defenses didn't shine in this game especially the Chargers D against no-huddle situations, Raiders defense played good against the runs but totally unable to stop Rivers. Raiders offense played the 1st good game of this season improving so much in passing but they have an huge hole in TE slot that needs to be fixed ASAP.
On Chargers d-side Weddle played great with knowledge and leadership to lead this youngsters to came up big when the game needed most.
The MVP of the match goes to Philip Rivers who has been able to be unpredictable targeting nearly everyone in Chargers uniform but a big help has been provided by the WR group who outplayed the veteran CBs Brown and Rogers outside all game long.

Atlanta Falcons 13 Chicago Bears 27 recap

Bears/Falcons : Honestly, we are a little bid disapointed about this game, simply because the battle of crazy attack that we attended was not there on sunday afternoon in the Georgia Dome. Coming off two loses on the road, Atlanta was back at home, where they are very dangerous and where Matt Ryan, their QB dominates opposite defense. But, unfortunalely for Falcons fan, Ryan was not on his game on sunday, completed just over 50% of his passes for 271 yards in 37 attemps. The Falcons WR tandem of Julio Jones and Roddy White was not at his level, catching a combine 7 passes for under 100 yards, and the other offensive weapons were not so good, like Toilolo and Hester, who was not very targeted by Ryan against his former team. With a down passing game, the Falcons were hoping to get some production in the running game, but their RB are not trust by ATL coaching staff this year. The combination of Steven Jackson, Jacquizz Rodgers, Devonta Freeman and Antone Smith touches the ball just 11 times combine, running for 42 yards : yes, Atlanta runs not enough and when you can keep your team on the field against the Falcons, it's more easy to win because they will more and more rely on the arm of Matt Ryan. And that's just what the Chicago Bears offense did, highlited by Jay Cutler, who throws for 381 yards and 1 TD. Cutler was supported by his RB, Matt Forte, who finally put up good numbers, with 80 yards on the ground and 77 yards on the air, scoring 2 TD. The Bears WR duo outdueled the Falcons one, with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery combine for 11 grabs and 249 yards. Chicago's defense was pretty good, with Kyle Fuller, the talented rookie CB outduel Julio Jones, a top 5 WR in the NFL, and the combination of Jared Allen and Willie Young was superb puting pressure on Ryan, sacked him 3 time. Atlanta is now on a 3 games losing streak and they will look to bounce back next sunday in Baltimore, who just destroy Tampa Bay yesterday. The Bears are now 3 and 3 on the season, and they host Miami next week, with the possibility to regain ground on Detroit and Green Bay.

Buffalo Bills 22 NE Patriots 37 recap

Pats/Bills : In a high scoring game, Tom Brady led the Patriots to a big division win against the Bills in Buffalo, 37 to 22. Brady was superb, throwing for 361 yards and 4 TD : that's the 60th in Brady career that the former Michigan Wolverines throw for at least 300 yards. The california guy used all of his weapons, finding 10 different targets : LaFell had 97 yards in 4 receptions and 2 TD, Gronkowski had 7 catches and Julian Edelman was once again the go to guy, with 9 receptions for 90 yards. The 2 TE system was once again utililize very smartly in the red zone by New England, with Tim Wright catches a 1 yard TD to open up the score in the 1st quarter. On the other side, Buffalo was lead by Kyle Orton, the new QB since E.J Manuel was demoted from the starting lineup. Orton, the former Purdue guy was pretty good, throwing for 299 yards and 2 TD : yes he was on his game. With the high rated WR Sammy Watkins going of the Patriots big free agent acquisition Darrelle Revis, the Bills needed other players to step up and some young guys really showed up : Robert Woods catches 7 balls for 78 yards and a TD, Chris Hogan had 5 receptions and a TD. Scott Chandler had a big day too, as the TE grab 6 receptions for 105 yards. The problem for Buffalo was the running game with all sorts of issues for Fred Jackson and C.J Spiller, who crossed the 2014 season like a ghost, after splashing into the scene two years ago.The Bills were also dominating by the Pats pass rusher, with Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich dominated the Bills offensive line. One other thing to say is that Steven Ridley, the Pats top RB got injured and we can be afraid of an important knee injury, so Shane Vereen or Brian Bolden should see more playing time in the next few weeks. Tom Brady in now 23-2 all time against the Bills, and the Pats are on an interesting 2 game winning streak. On the other side, the Bills have loss two in a row and have now a record of 3 wins and 3 loses, while New England lead the AFC East win 4 wins in 6 games. Brady and his teammates host the struggling Jets thursday, while Buffalo is playing at home against the Vikings on sunday.

Cincinnati Bengals 37 Carolina Panthers 37 considerations

Comments: this has been an awesome game full of emotions, the injuries had an huge impact on the game, Carolina's running game it has been conditionated so much and let Cam Newton take more resposibilities, i think Newton is not completely ready to be the one who can lead the team to a ring, against the Bengals he alternated good plays to bad throwing and run decisions against anot brilliants Cincy defense that hasn't been able to put up great pression to Newton. Dalton by the way played good even with the absence of AJ Green, Sanu played great and filled the vacant role of green, even Gresham and Tate played a solid game. Bengals running game is not so good this season an 89 yards TD rush for Bernard let the stats sound better than they actually are. Panthers defense is not good as it was last year with the temporaney loss of Hardy they've shown even in Cincy that they can't put the same terrific pressure on QB as they did last year but even the secondary need to improve a lil bit evenif they made 2 INT 1 with Cason and the other by Harper.
This game has been balanced in every department of the game in the score too, the game should be closed or at least changed by an easy FG try by gano in the final partof the 4th quater but he missed and it and at the end of regulation the game still tied, the Bengals scored firstin OT with a FG than the Panthers did the same and after a great offensie drive drove by Dalton ended witha personals foul by Johnson and it seemed to be over but Nugent missed in a such an awful way.
PS: Cincy not new in their recent history to tied games :)
Hard to decide an MVP so i go with Newton (helped by Olsen and a very good Benjamin) for the Panthers and with Sanu for Cincy.

MLB NLCS 2014 STL Cardinals vs SF Giants predictions

Giants side:they need to shudownthe offense of St Louis as they did in 2012 to do that they need superperformances by their starters who need to resist to the most hottest team ofensivl in the playoffs, o Bumgarner & Co. will need to picth better than he Keshaw & Co did in NLDS. Key words for Giants will be NEVER RELAXING!!! Also the Giants need to improve a lot at the plate and use lot of patience against especially pitchers like Waino who can strike out easly, the bullpen seemed in a very good shape during the series against the Nats and it ll be a good weapon in close games.

Cardinals side: They are my favorite team to win the WS this year, the played an awesome series to overcame another great team...the LA Dodgers who every expert in USA gave them the title of the best team in the NL. Cardinals didn t beat just the Dodgers but they beat Kershaw twice with scoring a lot.An huge factor will be the home field advantage that will give St Louis the charge in difficult moments as they did in game 4 trailing by 2 point thru 6 innings. Waino's craky hands can conditionate the entire series as it did in game 1 in LA, the cards to advance to the WS need to keep doing what they did in the series vs LA with i think more consistency even in first 4 innings.

COMPARISONS:
C: Huge battle with 2 greats but Molina is more complete than Posey
1B: i take Adams over Belt
2B: hard to tell but i think Panik has been more consistent than Wong
SS: Peralta over Crawford
3B: Carpenter over Kong Fu Panda
RF: Pence over Grichuk
CF: Jay over Blanco
LF: Holliday over Perez all the way
Starters: Both Teams have great starters and they prooved it in the NLDSbut  think Cardinals are better becuase they limited the dodgers with the exceptions of game 1
Relievers: The experience against the youngsters, i think it's a tie contest they both played a great 1st round and deserve credit for that.

A the end of this series i think the Cardinals will get the revenge of the 2012 NLCS and they'll do it with a 4-1 score in the series.

Houston Texans 28 Indianapolis Colts 33

As i predicted in my blog yesterday it would be a Colts win by 5 points and a close game but everything seemed to be different after a shocking start by the Colts that went ahead 24-0 with 1 rushing TD by Richardson an 2 TD Catches 1 by Bradshaw and the other by TE Fleener, they put up 24 straight points thanks to bad throwing by Fitzpatrick (not well protected) and also to a great Special team play with a great onside kick recovered (3rd of the season most of any other team). When the game seemed to go in a long garbage time Houston reacted great with an Andre Johnson TD followed by JJ Watt defensive TD and an arian Foster one. With Indy ahead just by 6 points the Texans looked to be capable to complete the comeback but they gave up a TD to TY Hilton who put up great number for the 2nd straight time against Houston, after that TD the tried the 2 point conversion but failed to the right with a Richardson run. Houston get close to Indy again with another Foster TD but a fumble by Johnson and another by Fitzpatrick put the game on ice for the Colts.

CONSIDERATIONS
Funny game with spectacular plays. i think that Houston is an overall good team but they need another pass rusher who can create problems if the opponents double Watt up, they need also a new QB fitzaptrick will never take them close to a ring even with a great help by a great O-line and Foster. I think Indy will win their division but they need to improve on Running game (richardson a failure so far) adn replace as best as they can Robert Mathis in pass rushing.

MLB ALCS 2014 Baltimore Orioles vs KC Royals predictions

Orioles side: they need a solid pitching performances by their starters because especially on the road in this playoffs the Royals prooved even against a tough lineup like the Angels that it's not easy to score against them, even because royals' bullpen is one of the best in the league and the O's must avoid to be behind in the 7th or later because Wade Davis and Gregg Holland are shutdown relivers. The O's can count on a very very good powerful lineup even without Wiethers, Machado and Davis. Baltimore's D is one of the best in last 3 seasons and this should be a problem to the speedster of the royals, that's why Hundley's defense will be a very important stuffs for the success of shutdown the Royals' running game, another important thing that the O's must do is get on base before Cruz will bat.

Royals side: they must keep focused about what they did in the series against LA: hit and run, stolen bases, good defense and of course contain opponents' offense avoiding HRs! The O's are one of the most pawerful team especially at Camden Yard, by the way i think KC right now is a better contact team the the O's so they need to get on base much more than Baltimore to get points and get their starters out of the game earlier that they prospected. Royals' pitching stuffs is called to play a great series because the O's already killed a great pitching stuffs like the Tigers one.

The final result of the series will see the O's advance to the 2014 WS with a 4-2 winver the surprising Royals. Cruz will be the MVP of this series.

NHL 2014/15 Season predictions

Today the NHL season will start and they ll do it in a such explosive way with 4 great game, in the last 1 will see the LA Kings rise the championship banner of the 2013/14 season and of course the SJ Sharks  will travel to LA to revenge the unbelievable playoffs elimination that they got from the kings, they were ahead 3-0 in the series and with an awesome comeback argubly the best in NHL recent history the Kings continued their way to the 2nd title of their history.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
The playoffs battle will be a way more interesting in the eastern conference than the western in terms of quantity of contenders for a playoffs spot. My ranking for playoffs are:
1 Penguins
2 Canadiens
3 Bruins
4 Flyers
5 Lighting
6 Rangers
7 Maple Leafs
8 Islanders

My guess for the conference finals is: Penguins 4-2 over the Canadiens, i think it's the year of finally Fleury will play good hockey even in playoffs and this will change so much the Pengs' version of playoffs.

WESTERN CONFERENCE
The diffleremce between the 2 conference s that in the western the most interesting battle will be made to detarminate he pos season position in he rankink, because i think the team that will play in the postseason will be the same of last year (maybe the Coyotes or the Canucks at the place of the Stars or the Avs)
1 Blackhawks
2 Blues
3 Kings
4 Sharks
5 Ducks
6 Wild
7 Avs
8 Canucks

I'll go fir the 3rd straight year with a Chicago vs LA conference final and even with another game 7. The winner of this series is hard to guess, but i go with the Kings because of a better goaltending and this will be a breakout point counting the huge talent of both sides offensivly and defensivly.

STANLEY CUP FINALS
LA Kings 4 Pittsburgh Penguins 2
I go with the Kings repeat because despite the greatness of Crosby and Malking LA is a more complete team and a way tougher than Pittsburgh, Fleury vs Quick will be an interesting matchup but even if i predicted the career year of Fleury i think Quick righ now is the best in the world.

NLDS: Cardinals 3 Dodgers 1 F

Game 4

After 5 dominant inning Miller gave up 2 runs in the 6th with a non-perfect relief by maness who wasn'y able to get Uribe out, Kershaw also pitched an awesome 1st 6 inning out of 3 days rest but as it happened in game 1 the 7th inning started by holliday's single has been dramatic for him, this time has been a 3 run shot by Adams to throw out Kershaw from the game. A strong 8th inning by Neshek and the save by Rosenthal gave the Cards the 4th straight NLCS. 3-2 Cradinals the final score.

Individual performances

Dodgers bullpen: something awful for all 4 games with the exception of the closer Jansen and i think the bad performance by their bullpen affacted even starter performances making them throw more pitches.
Cardinals youngsters: played like true superstars, congrats to the cards' organization to draft them and develop them so well
AJ Ellis: finished th series over .500 and so good even behind the plate
Puig: i need to improve to be called a superstar, he striked out too much and he didn't play good at all.
Cardinals starters: with the exeption of Waino who has a cranky arm the other starters made and unbelievable job to control and sometimes dominate a very angerous lineup like the dodgers.
Mike Matheny out-manage Matthingly and gained the 3rd straight NLCS in his 1st 3 years as a manager.

LAA Angels season

Consideration

After an embarassing 3-0 debacle in the series with the Royals an with so many expectations will brong them to a long offseason full of doubts...1st of them will be why the lineup didn t produce so many runs in postseason? Even counting Hamilton's physical problems Angles' lineup still a way better than Royals' one but the field said the opposite. The 2nd is the awful performance by their bullpen that has been completly outplayed by the opponents' one. the 3rd is how good can the veterans (pujols hamilton wilson and wearver) performe next year, will the age be an issue for them?
It's even true that lose the 1st 2 games at home at the 11th inning in that way provocate an automatic question Could this series be a way different??? Yes of course but at the beginning of this series the majority of the people thought that the Angels would win easly, by the way Kansas played with an awesome enthusiams after the wild card win over the A's an this has been a major factor for the final result of the series.

Individual performace valutation

Trout: he's probably the next MVP of th AL but i think he played under his possibility
Pujols: not anymore the most dominat player ever that he was on St Louis he bat and HR but unfortunatly for the Halos he wasn't able to put up great numbers
Hamilton: i think the injury limited him all season long after a great start.
Weaver and Shoemaker; 2 good starts and a pleasurable surprise with the 2nd of them for all season long
Wilson: so far by the wilson we are use to see...completely out of control.
Bullpen: something that need to be completely changed.

NE Patriots 43 Cincinnati Bengals 17

This game was near to be a must-win game for the Pats after came out of what maybe is the worst start of the season in Brady-Belichick era. Lot of doubts about Brady on NE journals during the week, so far he seems to shut the mouth of all doubters.
This game has been dominated by the Pats with a strong group performance: 113 yards and a TD for Ridley who didn t performe so well this season, 100 rec yards and a TD for a good Gronk (i think is not at 100%), Brady so much better protected and with a way better throwing decisions put up 292 yards and 2 TD, on the defensive sie great performance by Revis who came up big with 1 FF and great man to man coverage on AJ Green.

Considerations

Lot of questions come up after this game...

1) Are the bengals and their initial 3-0 record overrated? I think YES...Dalton fails in big games and he's helped so much by Green who is always able to get available to receive, also the 1st 3 opponest by the Bengals don t look so well this season.
2) Are the critics right on Brady? I think something is right something is not, for example he has been bad protected but he made also bad throwing decision, i think to answer this questions we need at least to wait the half of the season.
3) Is Cincy team the same at home than on the road? Of course no, they ve proven that they are a way better at home than on the road even last season, but they ll need to improve on the road if they want to be legitimate contenders.

Carolina Panthers 31 Chicago Bears 24

The game didn' start so fast, both defense seem to had the control of the game until Chicago's special team committed an huge mistake during a punt from inside their own 15 yards, they hit the punt returner hard after he called fair catch, the ball came out from his hands and right after i lil confusion on the field has been philly brown to take ball back in his hands and run in the end zone fot the first score of the game.
Chicago reacted in such a fast way with Cutler: 1 rushing TD and 2 TD passes 1 to jeffrey amd the other to matt forte who concluded the 1st half with over 120 total yards.
At the half carolina's destiny seemed  to be signed by: 2 turnover out of newton's arms, the absence of all 3 RB's and also by the shape of a brilliant forte.
In the 2nd half as even coach Trestman said in post game press conference the Bear haven't been able to put up a good drive, Panthers' defense came up strong lead by Charles Johnson who played as he never done in this season and finished with 2 sacks , another solid game by at my opinion the best MLB in the league right now mr. Luke Kuechly, the rise of Greg Olsen who has been the MVP of the match with 72 yards and 2 TD's helped out Cam Newton to overcame the deficit and snap the 2 game's losing streak.

Considerations

Meanwhile the Panthers played withut Hardy and all 3 of their RB's the Bears don't have any excuses for the 2nd half blowout, now there is a question who come up easly...Is cutler a winning QB? and...Why they give a up a brilliant McCown in Trestman sistem?

...Can't wait for game 2!!!

MLB Playoffs 14 predictions NL

Washington Nationals vs SF Giants

I think Washington Will win 3-1, the keys of their win Will be a better rotation and a better bullpen, this year the Giants Will need more offense to go to the WS, they need to use as the best as they can their experience, Washington Doesn t have the same playoffs experience that s why it should be a problem for them. The X factor in this series Will be the struggling bruce harper.

LA Dodgers vs ST Louis Cardinals

Maybe the best series in all of this playoffs, history, talent, greatness and also kershaw and waino...in last 4 years the best pitchers in the World. Waino vs kershaw Will be the matchup for an AWESOME game 1 at Dodgers stadium. It s so hard to guess the result of the series but i say 3-1 STL, even of the Dodgers Have the best lineup in the NL   but the bullpen and the starting rotatio i think is in the advantage of the cards cause of experience and the mental toughness that they ve. Even with offensive struggling the cards in last 10 years are the toughest team in maybe all of sports to eliminate, that s why the Dodgers need to start strong and NEVER relax on a possibly advantage.

MLB playoffs 2014 prediction AL

Baltimore Orioles vs Detroit Tigers

I think Baltimore wil win the series 3-2 but everything will depend on Orioles' pitching stuff, if they ll be able to contain cabrera and company, also home field advantage will play a big role in this series. Cabrera is attended to play big even in post season after 2 disappoint playoffs campaigns in last 2 years, he has to prove that he truly is even a playoffs superstar and not just a awesome regular season player, Kinsler will have to get on base before cabrera's at bat to give him a chance to drive in runs. On the other side Nelly Cruz will be to most dangerous player (he holds th post season record with 8 HR in 2011), he s not new to make great at bats with great power and a great clutch instinct. The X factor is Verander and the final result of the series could change if he would be the great pitcher we saw at the end of the season.

LA Angels vs KC Royals

My personal idea about this series is an easy win for the Angels for 3-1 but it should be different in case of royals' pitching stuffs would outplay the angels one. I wouldn't be surprise in a Kansas' win in game 1 because they are so pumped up for the comeback in wild card game but the angels are maybe the best lineup in the majors with the big 3, Pujols role would be bigger than Trout one because i need to guide the team with his experience and talent, hamilton's health will play a key role too. On the other side royals need is to improve on the plate and keep up the great pitching stuff lead by Shield on the starters and Holland on the bullpen.

San Francisco Giants 8 Pittsburgh Pirates 0

San Francisco Giants @ Pittsburgh Pirates Wild Card Game NL

 SINTESI
