Chicago Bears 14 vs Miami Dolphins 27 recap

Well, when we think that the Bears season seams to finally begin, the team from the Illinois surprise us in a real bad way with an awful performance the week after. After a big win in Atlanta last sunday, where Jay Cutler, Matt Forte and the Bears defense was superb, they were at home for Week 7 to play against the Miami Dolphins, who lost a thriller at home to the Green Bay Packers of Aaron Rodgers. The Bears where looking for a good performance by Cutler, who on the paper is a better QB than Ryan Tannehill, the 3rd year man out of Texas A&M. But, for at least one game, Tannehill looked like an All-Star QB, completing is first 14 passes and helping the Dolphins took an early lead. The Miami QB was finding his big targets early, especially Mike Wallace, « Ocean 11 », who caught a nice TD from Tannehill, just after a Charles Clay TD in the 1st quarter. Tannehill was really helped by his offensive line, who controlled really well Willie Young and Jarod Allen, the two best sackers on the Chicago side. This offensive line maked also a lot of damage for Lamar Miller, who run the football really hard and score a big TD in the 3rd. The Miami QB add a new weapon to his game that make him more dangerous : he can run the football, and at Soldier Field on sunday, the Texas guy run 6 times for 48 yards, one of them to pick a huge 1st down late in the game. So, Miami did what they have to do to win this football game, but one thing is sure, the Chicago Bears didn’t do that yesterday. Jay Cutler was not very good that’s what we can say, Alshon Jeffery was a ghost and even Brandon Marshall had trouble with the Dolphins backs. In fact and I think nobody could predict that : the Dolphins duo of WR, make by Wallace and Jarvis Landry outdueled maybe the best WR duo of the NFL, the Bears one of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, who caught just 8 passes for 57 little yards. Matt Forte was once again the best player on the field for Mike Trestman crew, simply because he’s good both on the ground and on the air, with 49 yards on the ground for the TD and 60 yards on the air with also a TD. But Forte runs the football just 12 times and that’s the problem, because when Cutler throws too much he gave the ball to the opposite defensive backs. Brandon Marshall, the long time teammates of Cutler was very frustrated after this game, saying that this loss was « unacceptable ».
With both Green Bay and Detroit winning on sunday, it’s really time to wake up in Chicago locker room, and next week they have a difficult game at Gilette Stadium against the New England Patriots. The Dolphins will look to continue their assault to the postseason in a battle for the crown of the state of Florida, as they go to Jacksonville to play Blake Bortles and the Jaguars, who just won their first game of the season against the Browns.
