Dallas Cowboys 31 NY Giants 21 recap

After Week 7, we can say one thing for sure : the Dallas Cowboys are for real ! Yes Cowboys fans, this is maybe the year, and a return to the postseason is finally coming. Tony Romo and his WR were always good, but for the 2014 season, some things are way different from the last couple of seasons. First of all, DeMarco Murray is maybe with Phillip Rivers the best offensive player for the first 7 weeks, and on sunday against the division rival New-York Giants, the former RB of the university of Oklahoma was once again superb, running for 128 yards in 28 carries. Murray is the first player in NFL history to start a season with 7 straight games of 100 or more rushing yards, and a thing that we can say is that Murray take advantage a lot of the Dallas offensive line, which is composed of young and high drafted player like Zack Martin, Zach Frederick or Tyron Smith. Because of the efficiency of Dallas running game and because of the quality of the Cowboys line, Tony Romo has the time to throw to his targets, one of them Dez Bryant, one of the top 5 best WR in the NFL, who catch 9 balls from Romo for 151 yards. Romo, the former Eastern Illinois QB is now very effective and on sunday he passes for 279 yards and 3 TD, two of them to Gavin Escobar, the SDSU product. The defense of the Dallas is also a big change this season, with the plays of unknown players like Rolando McClain, Justin Durant or Orlando Scandrick. On the Giants side, Eli Manning was not so bad, completing a good % of his passes and finding the end zone 3 times. Without their 2 best offensive weapon, Victor Cruz and Rashad Jennings, New-York were looking for boost from other players and they got that by their rookies. For example, Odell Beckham JR caught 2 TD passes and he’s now the best option in the red zone for Eli Manning. The former Ole Miss players can also count with Andre Williams, the rookie RB out of Boston College who was not so bad against this very good Dallas defense. One thing to not is that the Giants D was really not so bad against this superb attack of Jason Garrett, with players like Prince Amakamura or Jacquan Williams, who where good but couldn’t answer the rhythm of Dallas attack.
Dallas now owns the best record of the NFL and they will stay at home for their game next monday against the Redskins of Washington. The Giants will not play in Week 8 and they will host the Colts in Week 9.
