After the first 7 minutes dominated by the defenses who didn't concede anything the Jets went on board on their second possession thanks to a patience drive alternating an high variety kind of runs to very efficient play action passes, at the end of it Bullock made a shot FG to give his team the first points of the game. The Giants answer arrived at the very beginning of the second quarter when the Jets has been forced to punt the ball due to a brilliant defensive sequence by the home team, on the return Harris brought it right into the end zone showing an awesome ball carrying vision to avoid the tackles. Giants defense continued to play big and they forced Ivory to fumble the ball inside the Jets' 20 yards and it has been recovered by Jason Pierre Paul but unfortunately for them their offense has been stop an half yard away from the end zone where Cromartie made a tackle on Nicks who received the ball on a slant route, Coughlin opted to send Brown on the field to kick an easy FG listed to try on 4th down. Fitzpatrick lead the charge and drove his team down the field with few passes instead the multiple silly penalties that they got and on a 3rd and 15 he found Powell on a screen pass that resulted in the game tying TD, that tie didn't resist even a minute because Beckham Jr. beat the entire Jets secondary on a crossing route and scored a 80 yards TD.
After an explosive end of the first half the offense cooled down scoring combined 0 points in the all third quarter and the first scoring opportunity cam with 9 minutes left in the game and it has been in favor of the Giants when after a balanced drive they came close to the visitors' end zone but once there Manning got picked off by CB Miles who read perfectly the slant route and so gave his offense a chance to reduce the 10 points and they did it arriving in FG range thanks to Decker and Marshall who made multiple catches to marching down the field quickly, once they arrived there the Giants defense stepped up and stop them short of the end zone so they put the special teams on the field and Bullock cut the lead to 7. The Giants hasn't been able to chew enough time on the following possession so they gave the visitors the chance to tied it on the last drive of the game and so they did, again they went to Marshall who lead them not only close to the endzone but even into there on a fade where he beat the 1 on 1 coverage on DRC. The game went to the overtime where the Jets started with the ball and scored 3 points on a 48 yards FG by Bullock and on the other side Manning hasn't been able to move his team at least in FG range due to bad play calling and silly penalties that forced them to 3/4th and longs, it doesn't happened just in the OT but in the all second half for them and that's why they didn't score a point since the halftime.
