NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins 2 Chicago Blackhawks 3 SO recap and analysis

The Penguins hosted the Blackhawks without their best d-man Letang out with an undisclosed injury, after 7 minutes without any emotion Chicago stroke 1st with D Rundblad with a very good shot close to the blue line using the screens his team mates in front of Fleury. Pittsburgh tried to answer with 8:40 left in the 1st quarter on a PP but the very good Blackhawks forecheck prevented any chance to score. With 4:36 remaining Chicago went to PP for too many men on the ice and even if they had a good puck movement they didn't create good chances to score. The 2nd quarter has been explosive right from the beginning with just 1:40 Marian Hossa scored a goal with wrist shot on the opposite post under the crossbar, immediate has been the reaction of Pittsburgh with C Sill who scored a beautiful goal on a snap shot from the high slot that gave no chance to G Crawford to stop it. The Penguins improved so much and their physical style of game paid of and they tied the game with a Downie goal who has been quick to arrive 1st on an uncontrolled rebound in front of Crawford. The 3rd quarter began with the huge miss chance by LW Perron who missed an open net after a great play to make Crawford miss, since that moment both teams have been a way more conservative and the scoring chances number decrease and the game went to the OT where happened the same that happened in the 3rd quarter with both team scared to lose but quiet propositive on offense and RW Kane  got the major opportunities of the OT with 2 back hand shot. None score so the game has been extended to the SO where Pittsburgh missed the 1st 2 attempt And Chicago won it with 2 straight scores due 2 very precise shots by Toews and Kane. This game has been dominated by both team but in different parts of it, Chicago dominated the 1st part of the game then after 5 minutes in the 2nd quarter the physical game of Pittsburgh made them comeback in the game but since the 2-2 goal by Downie both teams played conservative till the end. In this game the Blackhawks shown a better puck movement than the Penguins who played more with their nerves due to the bad day of their 2 starts Crosby and Malkin who have been neautralized by the Blackhawks' defense. The MVP of this game in my opinion is Hossa who scored a goal and had a primary assist on the other one.
