NBA: San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder matchup analysis

A huge showdown for this Christmas day, as two of the best teams in the West will face off in San Antonio. This 2 teams are really hurt by injuries to big time players, as Kawhi Leonard is right now down with a hand injury and MVP Kevin Durant sprained his ankle a week ago and will be a game time decision for Scott Brooks. Even if KD is not playing (a thing I really don’t expect), this game will be a superb one. The battle at the PG position will be interesting, as Tony Parker and Russell Westbrook will face off. This is 2 of the best point guards in the entire NBA, as their style of play is a little the same, even if Parker is not playing the same kind of game that he was playing when he arrives in the NBA. Their quickness and their ability to go to the line make them so hard do contain, as they can also hit mid range jump shot. The battle inside will be interessant, even if we don’t know if Ibaka will play, as the PF from Congo will maybe be suspended after his little brawl with LaMarcus Aldridge of the Blazers. Tim Duncan is maybe old but his science and his fundamentals are still there, as Timmy D I think will have a great game against a young Thunder squad. The two bench are great, with outside weapons like SB Belinelli for the Spurs and guys like Morrow or Lamb for OKC. Reggie Jackson will be the key I think, as him and Westbrook will try to tire Parker to take the advantage. Im taking the Spurs winning this game, even if Durant dress up, as they are simply a better team and they need to show America and the World that they have the ability to still compete with high physical teams. As every time with San Antonio, Manu Ginobili will be the X Factor, as he could so much change the game when he’s on.
