UFC: Lawler vs Condit fight analysis and considerations

Very high pace right from the beginning with a very aggressive Condit especially from the medium-long distance where he had the advantage in matter of reach, on the first round i saw a better Condit than Lawler who just tried to answer back the rival's hit, his strategy paid off in the second round when he hit his rival right in the face while he got off balance trying a fast combination of punches, on third round the challenger tried to KO his opponent with some spectacular spinning back elbow and fist along with kicks from different angles but the champs resisted so they run into the fourth round with a balanced situation but there Condit got an advantage landing tons of hits (both kicks and punches) chasing down the champ all over the octagon showing awesome striking skills and at the end of it he came close to KO him but Lawler in same way resisted. Lawler returned on the octagon in the fifth round very aggressive being aware that he was trailing on points, that attitude paid off at the end of the round where in a dramatic scenario he came close to KO Condit with a furious combination of punches but he resisted and the last minute of the fight both fighter were dead tired so none have been able to finish the fight before the end.

Lawler won by split decision...in my opinion Condit deserved it by unanimous decision being in control of the fight for the most part of it and landing the majority of the hits. By the way it has been an awesome fight with a tremendous pace from the beginning till the end.
