Pittsburgh started with the ball and after a quick 3 and out they punted the ball that has been returned right to their half part of the field, the home team partially take the advantage of the good field position taking just 3 points out of it. Steelers continue to struggle on offense and also on special teams where Berrymade an awful short punt that gave the Broncos another great starting field position but even this time the Steelers defense came up big and forced McManus to kick and made another FG. Pittsburgh reaction arrived on the following drive thanks to a 40 yards run by Bryant on a reverse that put them deep in Broncos territory where Toussaint brought it into the end zone on advice run from an heavy high formation, their good moment went on their very next drive where Hayward Bey made a big play thanks to the skill of Big Ben of extending the plays that allowed the WR to be alone on the sideline after a blitz that didn't went right, once in FG range the Broncos defense stepped up with a sack and forced Boswell to kick and made a not easy long yardage FG. The Broncos cut the deficit at the end of the first half thanks to the third FG of McManus set up by 2 CJ Anderson's runs between the tackles for good gains due to the chance play by Manning at the line of scrimmage.
The second half started with another big play of Bryant who again for the Big Ben's ability to extend plays found him wild opened for a reception that brought them close to the Denver's redzone where Bowell made a 28 yards FG later on that drive. The Broncos continued to attack the Steelers defense on the ground and the result has been the fourth straight FG by McManus. At the beginning of the fourth quarter the Steelers offense made a very good drive marching down field with 2 big play on the air but once in Broncos' territory and even close to FG range the HB Toussaint fumbled the ball on a Roby's hit to give away the possession of the football and this time they finally have been able to score a TD thanks to a very good balanced drive where Manning shown all his huge knowledge of the game and his ability to change the play at the line of scrimmage, Anderson run tough on a dive to score a 1 yard TD that gave his team the lead with 3 minutes left in the game. Demaryius Thomas received a screen pass by Manning from the trips formation to convert by 2 and give a full possession of advantage to his team. The Steelers offense got their last chance to tie the game but they fell a way short of their target thanks to a great pressure on Big Ben who has been sacked by Miller on 4th down on his 20 yards then the Broncos chew the clock and let McManus kick his 5th FG of the game to win it.
Manning's performance has been heavily affected by the numerous drops of his receivers, he played good but not great as he could, his knowledge gave a great push to his team to win this game, their running game worked out so well especially on the second half with the Steelers defense tired due to the altitude something that didn't happened to Denver's defense who played an outstanding game on both running and passing game. Pittsburgh despite the key injuries played a great game on both sides of the field, Big Ben has been effective on extending the plays and not turning the ball over, on the other side their defense played as good as always against the runs and they improved so much on coverage and pass rushing showing also an high variety of blitzes.
