NHL: Philadelphia Flyers 2 Boston Bruins 3 recap and analysis

The Flyers hosted the Bruins for this rivalry game that saw the visitors start so well controlling the puck in the offensive zone something that their rivals didn't do in the first period, the Bruins also outshoot the Flyers and the result has been a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period due to the goals of Bergeron on a power play on a scrambling pack in front of Neuvirth and the other goal, another power play one by Marchand on a slap shot from the low circle. Philadelphia retuned on ice with a different approach and they drawn 3 straight power plays, on the second one Simmonds scored a tap in goal thanks to the assist of Schenn who left him alone, they continued to attack and impose their forecheck that kept the Bruins away from Neuwirth for several time, Rask had his hands full due to the massive attacks of the Flyers who had in Simmonds their most dangerous player. The third period saw the same trend of the precedent frame with Philadelphia trying to tie the game with the difference that Boston had some chances to score on breakaways, the home team finally tied the game with 8 minutes left in the game again with Simmonds well assisted by Voracek. When the game seemed to end in overtime the Bruins with one of their rare shot in the third period opened up the scoring scenario, Chara shot the puck from the blue line in an hard way and Connoly had the decisive deflection that beat Neuvirth for the game winning goal.

MY 3 stars of the game:

1 Simmonds
2 Chara
3 Marchand
