NFL: Tennessee Titans 24 Pittsburgh Steelers 27 recap

The Titans host at the LP Field in Nashville the Steelers who need to get bacl on track after an awful loss in NY against the Jets. This has been the game with the longest surnames by the 2 starting QB combined in the NFL history :).
The Pittsburgh Steelers started strong on offense using RB LeVeon Bell to run especially on the left side of the offensive line with very good results but didn't happen the same when they tried to run over DT Jurrell Casey who stopped them and with a group effort they limited the Steelers just to a Suisham FG from the 49 yard line. The Steelers didn't have to wait so much to scored their 1st TD and it happen when rookie QB Mattenberger missed a pass inside on a bad executed outiside route by WR Justin Hunter and William Gay punished the Titans returning it into their end zone. Even Titans' rection didn't wait andd the score a rushing TD with RB Bishop Sankey who rushed tough inside after a perfect drive lead by WR Kendall Wright receptions. Pittsburgh by the way seemed to don't want to slow down the game and they scored other 3 points with a FG after Roethlisberger missed WR Martavius Bryant 2 times on an end zone's fade. Titans marched again down the fiels and the on fire Kendall Wright made a big play on a well designed play-action screen by coach Wiz but they didn't capitalized that drive completely missing the 3rd and goal conversion on a draw by Sankey and that forced them to a FG. With less than a minute to play in the 2nd quarter Roethlisberger with every receiver covered throw an awful ball right on Jason McCourthy intende to Antonio Brown in the end zone. Tennessee made Ben's error even more painful with a beautiful spectacular 80 yards TD pass from Mettenberger to former Steelers WR Nate Washington who got free due to a "stop an go" move starting from a bunch formation.
In the 2nd half Titans defense made 2 straight sacks showing great pressure due to well designed bitzes and forced the Steelers to punt. Even this time another very good drive by the Titans following a Steelers mistake and this time has been Chase Coffman who receiver 3 times in that drive, the last of those 3 has been a great catch high in the air in the end zone for a Titans' TD. In a game full of "answer back" drives Pittsburgh continue this trend running well the ball against the Tennessee blitzes and scoring a rushing TD with Bell. Again an on fire LeVeon Bell who is doing everything for Pittsburgh in last 2 drives moved the ball down the field by himself and captured all the attentions of the defense opening up a play-action pass TD on an outside throw to Antonio Brown who beat the double coverage on him. Tennesse's offensive rookie in trouble and not able to drive the ball down field as they did till in the 1st half even because of the great knowledge and experience of the 77 yaers old Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau. Bell simply to good to be stop for the Titans defense even thanks to the great job of his o-line on rushing blocks, the Steelers continue like that and closed the game out easly, Bell closed the game with 204 yards and a TD. The Titans have shown big improvements in this game in both offense and defense but the changement form the 4-3 to the 3-4 defense is making them struggling to stop the runs, great play actions thanks to a good and solid running game and efftive blitzes on defense but at the final part of the game the Steelers found the way to beat those blitzes running with Bell who has been amazing all game long and he has been the MVP of the game. Steelers shown a great running game and a pretty good passing game but they struggled a lil bit on pass protections, on the defensive side they need to improve especially on the secondary.
