Atlanta continue their trand and start the game wuth an interception made by Kemal Ishamel who has been oppurtunistic waiting behind Benjamin who was fighting for the ball against Isiah Tufant.
The Falcons offense struggled to start the game and Panthers' defense got the ball back for their offense but a tough goaline stand by Atlanta's defense limited them to just a FG. Matt Ryan went to Julio Jones who has been target so many times especially outside the numbers where he has been so effective. Falcons played a lil bit better om offense in the 1st half and they finished it ahead 6-3 in a completely domination by 2 very well coached defenses. The Falcons started so well the 3rd quarter scoring in 2 straight drive, the 1st one with a Matt Bryant FG and in the 2nd one with the first TD of the game scored by WR Roddy White who hasn't been target so many times till that moment.
The importance of the game conditionated the game i think more in worse than in better with both performances of the offenses and the behaviors of the players on the field and with Carolina trailing by 2 possessions they tried to change the game and put the game on a nerves question and they done that with 3 brawls at the same time and believe or not it changed the game, Atlanta returned on the field a lil bit scared and right after that they lost a Hester lost a fumble in Panthers' territory but Carolina haven't been able to move the ball down the field and punted again to a very conditionated Falcons team, conditionated to the fear to blow another consistent lead as they did in London., the result has been ball back to Newton's hands who made the first good drive of his game and scored their 1st TD of the game thanks to a great catch by rookie WR Kelvin Benjamin who used his size to catch the 22 yards pass over a very good Isiah Trufant who played all game long covering him. Atlanta completely lost their confidence and the offensive trouble continue and they gave the ball back again to a fired up Cam Newton who made an awesome TD pass from midfield to WR Philly Brown who finally received his 1st career TD and this TD put the Panther ahead 17-16.
Matt "ice" confirmed his nickname and lead the team to a FG that re-put them ahead once again by 2 and with 2 minutes left in the game the Panthers had another chance towin the game, more exactly 2 chance because after Graham Gano missed the possible game winning FG from 46 yards the Falcons didn't close the game out chewing the time but they gave the home team another chance to win, but even this time Gano hasn't been able to put between the post the 63 yards FG that would give them the win.
We saw a very pleasurable game to watch thanks to the intensity that both team shown on the field; the trend of those 2 team is exactly the opposite, Carolina is falling down with an awfu offense and even if we saw an improvement even the defense is not a top one; Atlanta need to play for 60 minutes every game and don't risk too much being scared of playing as they usually do, of course the defense lead by Trufant and Worrilow is play near to the best they can do but i can't say the same about the offense that with all the potential that they've the must produce many more points.
