The Rams played tough right from the beginning estabilishing a good running game against the 3rd best defense against the run and they scored a rushing TD with Cunningham. The Rams great start offensivly has been extended even to their defense using lot of schemes to make pressure thanks to great blitzing knowledge of defensive coordinator Greg Williams. The cardinals haven't been able to estabilish the running game but at the beginning of the 2nd quarter Palmer step up and had a good drive thanks to his pass and Larry Fitzgerald that open up the Ellington outsie rush TD. Rams offense struggle lead Catanzaro FG thanks to good field position to start the AZ's drive but they haven't been able to capitalize their drive with TDs because the Rams great job in blitz and pressure keep them out of the end zone. Jarret Cook huge play on a vertical route gave the Rams the lead with a speactacular TD, Cards' defense struggles against pass continued even in this game, something that didn't happen for the Rams that intercepted Palmer with Alec Ogletree due again to the great pressure on the QB, who has been force to make too many bad throwing decision. Good starting field position due to Ogletree's interception has been badly wasted by the Rams with penalties and bad protection that cost them Calais Campbell sack that threw out of FG range. Rams inability to complete passes with the exceptions of ones threw in the direction of Cook kept the Cards in the game.
Palmer torned his ACL who has been replaced by the former Colts Drew Stanton and with the improvement of their secondary the have been able to stop Rams' offense easly, this gave Cards offense the confidence necessary to threw a play action pass inside the numbers to a 48 yards TD by WR John Brown who got free with a beautiful double move. Austin Davis tried to o something more than he did all thus far and he finished to overthrew a pass in the direction of Patrick Peterson which interception returned for a TD that ended Rams' hopes. Davis tried again to do too much an fumbled the ball that has been returned to Cromartie for a Cards' TD. The Rams need to improve so much on the offensive side to win important games like this by the way thier young defense looks so good. The Cardinals should be in trouble replacing Palmer with Stanton but coach Arians already tell that they should win a superbowl eith Stanton as starting QB, well we will see even if i think Arians exagerrated this time and put too much pressure on his team.
