NFL: Philadelphia Eagles 45 Carolina Panthers 21 recap

The Panthers went to the city of brotherly love to get back on track and with a 2-0 record by Cam Newton on monday night with 5 TDs and NO interceptions, of the 2 wins came in Philadelphia last year. The Eagles played without MLB Demeco Ryans (out for season with torn achilles) and QB Nick Foles replaced by the former Jets Mark Sanchez who has been signed by them in March.
Carolina got the first possession of the night but they lost it on their 21 yard line after just 49 seconds due to a Deangelo Williams fumble forced by Thornton, the Eagles haven't been able to cash it completely and they came out with just 3 points. The Panthers turned over again (2nd TO in 3 plays), this time Cary Williams picked off Cam Newton and lead Sproles running TD on an outside run.
Avant's 3rd down ability to get free to receive helped Newton to put up the 1st and the only good drive of the game finished by a Steward's TD from the goaline.
Panthers' inability to repeat the good drive forced them to punt and they did a really bad one right on the middle of the field to the great returner Darren Sproles who punished them scoring a TD with an elettrifying return. Eagles' offensive line has been able to provide very good protection to Sanchez even thanks to forced absence of the Kraken Greg Hardy, Sanchez finished his very good drive with a TD pass to rookie Jordan Matthews. Phila kept doing great even on defensive side showing great blitzes and Trent Cole capitalized the situation with a sack. Carolina's offense failed again when they tried to convert a 4th down with a deep fly route renuncing to a 44 yards FG and the result has been a turnover on downs. Newton's nightmare went thru all the 60 minutes of the game and a brilliant Fletcher intercepted him on an outside curl to his WR  returned all the way for a TD. Newton's struggles is not just his fault but even becuase his offensive line failed to protect him especially in LT, the position occupated by Bell who played RT last season and shows difficulties in passing situations. Nate Allen ended Carolina's awful performance in the 1st half with a pick 6 on an hail mary. Newton's awful performance continued with the 4th Eagles' sack made by Connor Barwin resulted in a fumble recovered by the defense that lead a big play inside the numbers for Celek who has been stopped on the 1 yard line, McCoy scored in an easy way with a fake read option rushing TD, a TD who closed the game out in favour of a very good Eagles team.
Chip Kelly magic touch has had a good effect on a convincent Mark Sanchez who has been able to lead his offense to score and don't turn it over the ball, even great game on intangibles by TE Brent Celek. Panthers defense lost so much in last offseason and those are the result along with bad play calling and an even worse Cam Newton who is having difficulties on his foundamentals they don't have chances to be competitive in the same way they did last year.
