NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers 43 Kansas City 14 recap and analysis

The Sunday night game of the fourth week took place at the Heinz field under an heavy rain, the visitors start with the possession of the ball but for the defenses dominated the first possessions of both teams with great pressure on the QBs helped also by the weather. The game changed when Spencer Ware fumbled the ball forced by RE Tuitt and recovered by Timmons then the offense took advantage of it scoring on a deep crossing route by Heyward Bey left alone by a guilty defense, Pittsburgh went for 2 and they converted it on a slant route by Weaton from the spread formation. Chiefs' offensive struggle continue on the following drive when Smith and Ware weren't on the same page on a screen pass and this allowed Heyward to deflect it right into Dupree's hands who intercepted it and brought it right to the 5 yard line where Roethlisberger found Brown on a slant route for a Steelers' TD, Pittsburgh didn't seem to stop offensively and again the dynamic duo Roethlisberger-Brown scored again a TD, this time a 38 yard one on a deep post route. The second quarter continue to saw just one team on the field and they increased their advantage with a 9 yards receiving TD by James, the expected KO hit arrived at the start of teh second half with the Chiefs still scoreless when Roethlisberger made another beautiful 30 yards throw this time to Wheaton on a vertical seem.
Great reaction by the Steelers after the lost game against Philadelphia, especially the line played better and the return of Bell make them even more dangerous, the defense played especially on the line of scrimmage. On the other side the excuse of the bad weather isn't enough, their offense has been embarassed all game long not only they lost the battle on the line of scrimmage but also they seemed on different pages and Smith ahsn't been able to keep his team in the game once again.

MVP: Roethlisberger
