NFL: Oakland Raiders 34 San Diego Chargers 31 recap and analysis

Very important game for both of those teams but in different way, in fact the Raiders winning should get the division lead and the Chargers should keep playoffs' hopes alive.
The first half saw a very good Chargers team on the field with an aggressive defense lead by Mebane who played a great game denying all the run in the middle, Bosa made his debut in the NFL playing LE providing a good pressure on Carr, the Raiders ended the first half with just 9 points due to the great redzone defense of their rivals but also Carr and his receivers were not always on the same page especially with Crabtree who changed the game in favor of his team in the second half with key receptions but that in the first half has been limited to just 1 catch. On the other side the Chargers played very aggressive also in the offense where Rivers went deep so many time to test the Raiders secondary and the majority of those times he had success but their turnovers didn't them allow to get a bigger lead than 1 point at the half.
San Diego continue to play very well on both offense and defense going ahead by 8 points thanks to a bad secondary by the Raiders that along with no pressure on Rivers resulted in no chance to stop them but the "old" Chargers with their turnovers on offense let the home team get a 10 points lead. When the game seemed to go in Oakland's way they started to play too conservative with run between the tackles and short passes that allowed the Chargers defense to get back the ball in their hands quickly 2 straight times then Rivers made 2 outstanding drive giving so many troubles again with deep balls, trailing by 3 inside the 2 minutes warning the Chargers had the chances to tie it with a 33 yards FG but the holder Kaser who missed badly a punt earlier that gifted their opponents a great field position, failed to hold the ball and the result has been Raiders ball and another embarrassing loss for the Chargers that should be easy 5-0 but due to bullshit they made they are 1-4 full of frustrations, in fact Rivers were the most angry Charger on the sideline because he played a great game with 359 yards and 4 TDs but due to another innovative way to lose games they gifted it to a Raiders teams that didn't play great football but at the same time they took care of the ball and it has been enough because the running game without Murray has been ineffective and Carr has been good just on some drives not providing a reliable leader.

MVP: Rivers
