1st Half
The first TD of the game has been scored by the visitors with an huge help by the defense that picked Luck off with SS Pryor forcing the QB to pass earlier than he wanted due to a blitz from the edges, the Jets offense capitalized the starting spot inside the redone scoring with Decker a receiving TD on slot slant route to beat Vontae Davis. The Colts marched down the field in just few plays but thanks to a great mix of blitzing and coverage the brought off the end zone Indy and also Vinatieri made an unusual mistake kicking the FG on the post from less than 30 yards. After some good defensive sequences by both defense Fitzpatrick tried to go deep close to the end zone to Marshall on a fly route but Davis this time won the battle deflecting the ball in the air where FS Adams made a very good interception. The Jets after a patience drive scored 3 points on a Folk's FG just entered in the 2 minutes warning.
2nd Half
The Colts tried to answer back their rival with a long patience drive alternating every kind of play to try to surprise the Jets and once they came close to the goal line the veteran HB Frank Gore lost a fumble to delete a 10 minutes drive to begin the 3rd quarter. The Colts defense forced the Jets offense to a quick 3 and out but again Luck missed the target on a curl route outside on Moncrief and the result has been the third turnover recovered by Revis to give his team a good field position to start the drive. The Jets offense continue to play too conservative and the result has been be unable to score, on the other side Luck had a very good drive after 3 and a half of ugly football and drove his time all over the field right into the end zone with precise passes to his WRs using especially comeback routes, the TD has been recorded by Moncrief who shown a very good route running ability. NY answer came immediately with a good balanced drive, not less conservative than the others but a way more effective due to a very good job of the o-line on both passing and running game, once close to the end zone Fitzpatrick saw the easy matchup outside with Marshall covered man to man by the Indy's fourth CB and went to him on a curl route that resulted in a TD. Luck tried to cut the deficit with less than 6 minutes left to play but again the blitzes made by Jets' forced him to pass the pass earlier than he wanted and the result has been the 5th turnover of the night this time an interception on an out route made by FS Gilchrist. The Jets managed the last part of the game so well being able to get 3 first down that chew the majority of the clock remaining in the game leaving no chances to the Colts to comeback into the game.
This has been the worst performance in Luck's NFL career, a lot of issues with the o-line and with his different kind of counts, Andre Johnson seemed for the 2nd straight week out of the game and just Hilton and Moncrief did something good. The Jets offense didn't do anything special but they didn't turn the ball over and along with an awesome performance by the defense they got the win, the main key has been the takeaways that literally killed the Colts.
