NHL Western Conference Finals: Chicago Blackhawks 1 Anaheim Ducks 2 recap and analysis

1st period

The start of the game has been characterized by too many turnovers and right after of them Kane and Kesler,  with both teams had difficulties to enter in the offensive zone effectively Anaheim took advantage of a man advantage scoring a goal with Maroon after 2 deflections on an hard Lindholm shot.
Chicago tied it at the end of the period with their biggest threat in this game Patrick Kane who made another magic goal using his great skills to score a back hand goal from the goal crease.

2nd period

Both teams have been scared to expose themselves to breakaways and along with the very good defenses this reduced sensitively the scoring opportunities. The defensemen of both teams have been blocked to the defensive side and this let the offenses have a deficit of people so the defenses didn't have had difficulties to limit the puck movement and even the stars of both teams haven't been able to be dangerous until Getzlaf assisted Despres in the left circle who scored due to a bad position by Crawford.

3rd period

With the visitors ahead by a goal i expected a way more by Chicago especially at home in fact they haven't been able to produce big threat to Andersen with the exception of the last minute or so when they left the empty net and got the extra skater there they tried 2 shots using the crawd in front of the Ducks' goalie to surprise him but it didn't work and Anaheim got a key win.

The biggest problem of Chicago in this has been depend too much on Kane's performance, he has been the only Blackhawk able to be dangerous, Toews and Keith didn't play good enough to bring their team to win even the defensemen that are full of offensive skills haven't been able to support the offense being too much blocked on defense. The Ducks payed such an awesome game in matter of defense in a very very difficult field to do it conceding just few chances to Kane, the only thing that they need to improve is their offensive duo Getzlaf and Perry who made a good game but not at the levels that they are used to play.

MY 3 stars of the game

1 Andersen

2 Kane

3 Getzlaf
