1st Period
This has been such a beautiful period to watch, the main motivation has been the early NY's lead due to a Brassard PPG that let Tampa to the offensive mode to try to tie it. The home team produced some good chances to score but the visitors punished them with a "Fast" breakaway after a save by Lundqvist with 2 passes Fast score with a lil move in front of Bishop. The Lightning cut the deficit soon with another breakaway goal with Stamkos who shown a good connection with Killorn that assisted him and let him have an open net shot.
2nd Period
This has been a one way period for the Lightning that not only tied the game but they even got a 2 goal lead for some minutes. The Rangers went close to regain a 2 goals lead at the beginning of this period when the puck went between the legs of Bishop but unfortunately for them it ended on the right side of the post. TB scored a PPG with Palat on a wrist shot well assisted by Johnson who scored the next goal capitalizing a Palat's assist. Close to the end of the period the home team gained a 2 goal lead with a Killorn's goal but they didn't keep it even for 1 minute because Fast scored his second goal right after it.
3rd Period
Trailing by a goal the Rangers didn't lose time and scored immediately with a McDonagh PPG from the low circle after a crucial win in face-off by JT Miller. With the game tied at 4 both team didn't slow down their pace and continued to attack, TB seemed to have won the game when Palat scored with less than 6 minutes left in the period but NY didn't give up and they tied it with less than 2 minutes to play with Boyle who scored an open neter capitalizing a rebounded puck in the blue area.
OT
With both teams visible signed by 3 very expensive periods in matter of energy physical and mental the OT didn't need so much time to assign the game to the Lightning thanks to a personal play by Kucherov who entered in the Rangers' zone and shot the puck in the same way he was going to and surprised Lundqvist close to the post.
This has been such an amazing game to watch right from the beginning with both teams played very good on offense and the high pace let this to be an high scoring one. Both defenses has been able to stop the opponents to enter in the offensive zone and along with a good puck movement didn't let the goalies play a good game.
