1st period
The pace of the period has been good but there weren't so many shot on goals and so on scoring chances, very intense period for McDonagh who sit down just for 4 minutes. There were just 1 chance for each team the Rangers' one with Hagelin from the goal crease but he has been stopped by 2 TB's defensemen, the Lightning one with a blue line shot that has been deflected by Lundqvist over the cross bar just in time.
2nd period
After a scoreless 1st NY started better and got 2 PPs the 1st one ended without any chances and the 2nd one saw a McDonagh circle shot who called Bishop to a very good safe. TB answered with a very hard hit by Carle on Kreider right on mid-ice and this gave trust to them in their skills so Garrison called Lundqvist to a great stop due to a dangerous circle shot.
3rd period
The Lightning continue the very good trend they had in the last part of the 2nd period scoring on a Killorn backhand shot after a personal play but the Rangers' goalie had responsibilities on it. Right from that moment NY tried to score in different ways but TB made a remarkable job to stop every try and on a breakaway started by Bishop the visitors scored their 2nd goal with Palat and this has been the KO punch of the series because NY continued to be stopped on every try to score.
The Lightning deserved to go to the stanley cup final not only for a remarkable game 7 but because they didn't give up in difficult situations, the Rangers offense failed bad in the decisive game and even if they didn't play bad in all of their year that wasn't enough to achieve their target.
