NHL Playoffs: Anaheim Ducks 4 Chicago Blackhawks 1 recap and analysis

1st Period

The Ducks started so well with an high level of intensity put under so much pressure the Hawks who had difficulties and that s why they had the 1st great chance to score on a miss-handled puck by Getzlaf but Andersen stopped it. Anaheim continued to play better and create more than their opponents, this let them score 1st with a Lindholm snap shop from the high circle who beat crawford on his short side.

2nd Period

After 4 minutes the Duck scored again with Palmieri well assisted by Thompson continuing the trend of the 1st period, the impressive start of intensity and good forechecking continued even in this period and Chicago seemed really in trouble to build something good and to enter in the offensive zone. The game slew down in matters of chances and pace till Richards stole a puck at mid-ice and then scored the 1st Blackhawks' goal of the game.

3rd Period

The visitors tried to tied it with a double chance with 2 shots from the blue line using the traffic to hide the puck to Andersen but it sin't work for them. With Chicago in offensive mode Anaheim put them in trouble with breakaways and after a great play Cogliano called out Crawford to a good stop. With 7:55 Thompson scored their 3rd goal on a rebouding puck on the goal crease, trailing by 2 chi tried to put the 6th man on ice but they have been punished by an empty netter by Silfverberg after a scramble in front of the net.

The Ducks deserved to in this game they palyed a way better than the Hawks keeping the opponents defenseman out of the offrnsive game, also Andersen outplayed Crawford all game long showing some great stuffs. Toews and Kane need to get back on track soon because their team need so much more from them to beat a complete team as Anaheim is this year

My 3 stars of the game

1 Andersen

2 Silfverberg

3 Thompson
