NFL Thanksgiving: Detroit Lions 45 Philadelphia Eagles 14 recap and analysis

After 13 sleepy minutes of football characterized by the domination of the line of scrimmage by both defenses that blocked the offenses  the game turned on when Stafford got the ball and the right protection so he moved the ball quickly on the air and the result has been the first TD of the game a receiving one by Roddick on an angle route. The visitors answered in the quickest way possible marching down the field in 2 plays, the biggest one a Burton's 43 yards reception who brought them 4 yards away from the end zone that has been reached thanks to a Celek crossing route TD. Since that till the end of the first half the Lions offense scored 17 straight points without running the football but involving everyone in the passing game in all the ways possible from the screens to the slants passing from the post routes.
In the early part of the second half the Lions put the game on ice with 2 straight TDs on end zone's fade by Megatron who beat the man coverage of Rowe both times.

This has been an awful game played by the Eagles who didn't put anything good on the field, poor performance not only by the players but also by the coaching stuff that didn't double teamed Megatron and that on offense continue to play shotgun formations despite the failure that came from it also Sanchez proved once again to haven't the skills to play in the NFL. On the other side the Lions improved so much since last time i saw them in Wembley stadium, their o-line improved on pass protection but not on running game and to be competitive at high levels or trying a comeback in the divisional race they must fix it. On defense Ansah played a very good game putting pressure on Sanchez and he has been helped by the entire defense who got the job done.

MVP: Stafford
