The 1st inning saw a perfect one by Lackey, something that didn t happen for Fiers who has been in trouble with his command especially with his breakingballs and this let 2 men on but he reacted Well and eliminated Reynolds to get out of trouble. Nothing happen offensively for both team a part of few base hits til the 5th inning where Lucroy and Braun got in base but Lackey continue to have the command of his pitches especially his fastball slider combo that let him got out of trouble. The Cards got the lead in the 6th inning with and Holliday RBI single after a Carpenter double, they scored again with a Reynolds double after a Peralta's walk, the Cards SS has been thrown out at the plate by Segura trying to score. The Cards scored again in the following inning with 2 double, the 1st one by Wong and the 2nd one by Carpenter who drove home the hawaian 2B. Lackey's game ended after 7 shoutout innings then Walden and Belisle got the job done for the hometeam, STL continued their scoring streak for the 3rd straight inning with another double by Grichuk finalized by a Molina single who drove him home.
