MLB: Chicago Cubs 0 STL Cardinals 3 recap and analysis

The Cardinals had a quick and decisive start scoring 1 run on both 1st 2 innings and also forcing Lester to throw too many pitches to get out of the innings, the 1st RBI of the 2015 went to LF Holliday who drove home RF Heyward with a single on the RF zone occupied by Soler and the following inning they increased their lead adding another run scored by Wong thanks to single of Carpenter on the RF zone.
Since that moment the Cards had some issues to take home points, especially thanks to the inability with a runner on 3rd base and less than 2 outs to put the ball in play but that's nothing compared to the 0-14 put togheter by the Cubs with RISP. The Cards had a big chance to put at least 3 runs on the board in the top part of the 5th inning with 3 straight singles by the 1st 3 batters of the order than Maddon had the fast hook to take out Lester from the game limiting the damages to just 1 run allowed thanks to the RBI by Holliday his 2nd of the night. Since that moment the pitchers controlled the game giving up just few hits even thanks to the large strike zone used by the home plate umpire all night long for both teams. Waino had 6 strong inning giving up no runs but more lead off hits than i expected but his great skills along with a clutch performance resulted in a win for him.

MVP of the game: Wainwright-Holliday
