NFL: Seattle Seahawks 40 Carolina Panthers 7 recap and analysis

The thirteenth sunday night of the season went on scene at the Century Link Field in Seattle where the Seahawks hosted the Panthers after both teams lost badly in last week. The game started with Anderson passing the ball for the Panthers and the first play has been a interception on a play action pass to Tolbert, well picked off by Morgan but the Seahawks offense scored just 3 points on a 27 yards by Hauschka. Carolina's offense continue to struggle even with Newton under the center so Seattle increased their lead with a long drive made by a long reception of 40 yards by Lockett TD by Rawls.//// The second quarter started with an interception by Tre Boston around midfield thanks to a very bad mistake by Wilson that threw a ball that didn't have any chance to arrive on Baldwin's hands because he was been double covered. Carolina's offense has come on the board with 10:32 when on a 3rd and 19 Newton made a pass to Ginn Jr. running a deep post that beat the cover 2 of Seattle for a 56 yards TD. Seahawks offense reestablished the 10 points lead 48 seconds later when after a very good kick off return by Lockett Rawls run in two plays for 57 yards and a touchdown, the last run has been possible due to a very good cut back that fooled the inside pressure by the Panthers' defense. Seattle's offense continue to score points, this time they moved the ball well on the passing game because the Panthers' defense has been committed to try to stop Rawls so they left  space to home team's receivers and the result has been a 23 yards field goal by Hauschka inside the 2 minutes warning. Panthers' last chance to score have turned in the Seahawks' last one because the home defense made another great drive forcing a quick 3 and out giving the chance to Wilson to march down field and so he has done moving the ball very well on both passing and running game escaping the pressure arriving in field goal range where Hauschka made a 31 yarder.
The home team continue to make spectacular plays and the first play of second half has been one of them, a 75 yards end around by Lockett that gave his team a 23 points lead. The KO punch has been thrown by the Seahawks defense when at the end of the third quarter they denied a fourth down conversion to the Panthers' offense right close to the end zone that essentially ended the Carolina's chance of a comeback.
The Seahawks got back the Legion of Boom for like half of the game because Earl Thomas III broke a bone in his leg during an hard contact with his own teammate Chancellor trying to pick off a ball in in the air but what we saw in this game by the home team has been totally different to what we saw a week ago in Tampa Bay both offensively and difensively. On the other side the Panthers continue to disappoint, Norman in that secondary continue to be missed and with a Kuechly on the sideline they didn't look the same of last year, even on offense their running game has been inexistent forcing Newton to be a pocket passer something that he's not great to do and when Benjamin isn't able to get free as happen against Sherman all game long just Ginn has been able to be dangerous with deep route.

MVP: Lockett
