This has been the game of the return of the two aces on the mound after more than a year of absence, Fernandez didn't start in the best way giving up two hits on the very two batters, he gave up a run due to a sac fly by Posey. Cain had two very good first innings then in the third he gave up his first run of the seasondue to anm Hechevarria RBI single that brought home Yelich, meanwhile Fernandez continue his good trend the Giants starter continued his struggles but a double play took him out of it. The giants extended their lead witha a Blanco's solo shot in the fifth inning but the home team answered so well in the bottom part of it with 4 points that have been the result of 2 homers, one a Fernandez solo shot and teh second a Bour 3 run blast both coming from missed locations of fastballs. Fernandez fgame ended after 6 innings, Cain's one after 5 and after teh bullpens took over the offense have been quiet till Posey hit a solo shot to cut the lead at one but they haven't been able to tie it in the ninth.
Considerations
Fernandez game has been a very solid one and if you don t count the first inning he has been awesome, he helped his cause with an homer showing his shape even at the plate, his pitchs has been very good showing even good movement, his fastball has been on a very good velocity arriving even at 99 mph but he missed more than once the location maybe for overpowering it, his sweepinf curveball has been a key pitch all game long.
Cain made a bad debut after a devastating injury but counting that the Marlins were without Stanton he should do more, his fastball lost 2-3 mph and veen the location haven t been good but he ll have time recover from it well and continue to improve even on his change up who will be an important weapon.
