MLB: Chicago Cubs 0 St. Louis Cardinals 6 recap and analysis

Lester started the game on the mound for the Cubs and after a complicated first inning in matter of pitch count but after that he had 6.1 innings of no hit, he did that thanks to a great command of his fastball along with some effective cutters, even the curveball helped him out in some key situation. Peralta broke his no-no and in that inning Molina drove in the first run pf the game due to a sac fly then Wong doubled the advantage by a single hitting a corner fastball. After a rain delay Grimpitched a perfect 8th then Jackson had a disastrous 9th where allowed 4 runs

Lackey had a great game and after a very good start with 3 strong inning in the 4th he loaded the bases and gave up the first career hit to his former teammate Lester but he went out of that situation brilliantly, another pitching gem by him happened in the 6th inning with 1 out and runners on the corners when with a sinker initiated the inning ending double play. His game ended as Lester's one after a rain delay than Siegrist and Harris continue to shutdown the Cubs' offense. Lackey's velocity along with a solid command has bene the major weapons, his fastballs

MVP: Lackey
