Champions League: Bayern Munchen 4 Juventus 2 OT considerations and analysis

The first game ended 2-2 at the Juventus Stadium in Turin, it meant that Juventus needed to win or tie it with 3 goals or more, not an easy thing to do at Allianz Arena in Munchen against a very tough team as the Bayern is. The game started in the best way possible for the black and white when after 5 minutes from the beginning of the match Pogba scored the first goal of the game on an open net, at the 22' Morata scored a good goal but it has been nullified due to a wrong evaluation by the referee who whistled an offside, 6 minutes later they doubled their advantage with Cuadrado well assisted by Morata. The Juve continue to have great scoring chances but they missed them and so the Bayern's chances to qualify for the next turn, along with the mistakes close to the net the Juve's coach Allegri missed badly the substitutions, especially the one Mandzukic for Morata who has been the best player in this game and who threatened the Bayern defense all of it, also they relieved Cuadrado (a quick and dangerous counterattacker) for Pereyra (a less offensive player then the Colombian), on the other side Guardiola put on Bernat, Koman and Thiago who changed the game in their favor, at the 73' Lewandowski cut the deficit at 1 goal, the home team put on an heavy pressing and without Morata to keep his team high and dangerous in Neuer zone the Bayern gained too many meters and this along with the fatigue let the German team had so many scoring chances and at the 91' scoring the game tying goal with Mueller. The game went to the OT where the Juve continue to just defend and the Bayern all in the offensive part of the field, it paid off at the beginning if the second OT when Mueller made a key assist controlling the ball with his back on the net serving Thiago who with a precise shot beat Buffon on the closest post, 2 minutes later they scored again with a personal play by Koman who fake a cross with his right foot coming back and shot with his left one to beat Buffon on the other side of the net to assure his team the qualification to the next turn.
