NFL Pittsburgh Steelers 32 New Orleans Saints 35 recap and considerations

Both defenses dominated the 1st quarter and the result has been 2 Swisham FGs due to Bell's runs that got great gains. New Orleans scored the 1st TD of the game with TE Watson after a very good drive based on power runs. Roethlisberger tried to do too much to react to the Saints TD but Vaccaro picked him off in the endzone on a Deep pass. stills 44 yards reception 1 on 1 vs William Gay opened up the 1st of the season of FB Lorig who run a flat route on a play action pass. The Saints continue the positive trend intercepting roethlisberger with Cameron Jordan able to got a deflected ball in the air, the Saints punished the Steelers scoring a receiving TD with WR Toon. The Steelers finally found the endzone on an outside goaline run by Bell. NO seemed to return the offense we were habituated to see with a Great receiving TD of Still who got free with a double move. Roethlisberger continued to be inaccurate passing the football and this didn t permit to his team to score more then a FG. Brees created another Great drive well finalyzed by Colston who received a back shoulder pass by Brees in the endzone. The Steelers scored to Antonio Brown and converted by 2 but everything resulted unuseful because Pittsburgh failed to recover the inside kick.
The Saints returned to win after very very bad performances in last weeks that cost them important losses, Their secondary improved so much in this game and combined to the inaccurancy of Ben let them resist to a usuallt awesome offense at home who was averaging 42.5 points per game. The key offensively has been give Brees the necessary time to pass the ball down field to his WRs, this kind of  situations made Brees feel so confortable that he didn't have to complete a pass to his favorite target during the season Jimmy Graham, also this kind of protection open up the big plays that they missed so much in last weeks and let players like Still express their potential. Even the running game took benifits of this finding more holes to explode especially inside the tackles to have good gains.
The Steelers offense relied too much on Bell and even if he has been awesome they needed more to win, they need a more accurate Roethlisbeger along with a better protection able to keep Cameron and Galette away from Ben. They have never been able to be effective on play actions even if their running game worked all game long and this fact limited Steelers offense that usualy rely so much on that kind of plays. On defense they haven't been able to do what for example the Ravens did against the Saints to avaid the deep passes forcing Brees to make short passes. The defense coached by LeBeau needs to put pressure with the line  to permit to stay sit back in coverage for just few seconds and give just few choices where to pass the ball effectively.
I give my MVP trophy to the "old style" Drew Brees who made his best game of the season and even after a slow started he has been able to rreact and drive crazy the Steelers defense with a very accurate choice of passes and a even better execution.
