Detroit started with the ball and struggled to run the ball but Stafford made a good job to manage the offense with screens but they failed to convert a 4th down on TB 28 yard line. Detroit didn t fail to score at their 2nd drive of the game despite the inability to run the ball against a very good Bucs' front 7, they Found the endzone on a Megatron's fade isoleted 1on 1 against CB Banks. TB reacted good with a balanced drive but they finished short of the endzone and so Murray scored the 1st 3 points of the game for them. On their following possession TB lost the ball on a very dangerous area due to the Quinn interception on a deflected ball intende to Evans. The Lions capitalyzed it completely scoring a 1 yard rushing TD on a tough effort by RB Bell. The Bucs commited their 2nd turnover in a row this one a fumble on the snap. This time Detroit didn't cash in the TB's mistake and Prater increased their lead with a FG. Glennon tried to decrease their deficit and he found Evan Deep down field for an huge gain but he got picked off in the endzone by Mathis who silly fumbled the ball and this gave the TB another chance to score and they did, when McCown found the rookie Evans in the endzone using his size on a back shoulder catch. The 3rd quarter has been Dominated by the Lions and especially by their defense who didn't give up any point there. The running game started to produce something for Detroit and the result has been 10 straight points with a Fauria TD. At the start of 4th quarter came with McCown who let his team reach Lions territory in a quick way to safe short passes finishing to find once again his favorite target Evans on an another back shoulder catch in the endzone. Unfortunately for TB Bell closed the game put with a powerful drive that saw him run for 35 yards and then with shorter but efficient runs who let Stafford hand off the ball to Bell after a Great pump fake who let him reach the endzone untouched.
TB's defense against the run played a great game with the exception of the the end of the game when they run out of energy, the secondary didn't play as good as their front 7 and they let Megatron and Tate have a big game even thanks to the great shape show by Stafford since the game in Foxboro against the Pats. Bucs' running game is poor because they struggle so much on o-line to open holes for their RB and against the best defense against the run in the NFL they have been shutdown on the ground all game long with some sporadic power run by Martin. McCown has been inconsistent to pass the ball for short yardage and to everyone made exception of WR Mike Evans who continue to play great. Stafford has been able to rely on the great due made by Megatron and Tate especially on clutch situations. Detroit has also been patience to not give up to run the ball even if the struggle to do it for the 1st 3 quarters. The difference this season for the Lions is not only Tate but also their great defense who continue to limit the opponents' offenses and to rpoduce turnovers that help the offense to have more chances to score. My MVP of this game is Stafford who lead his offense to score 34 points against a tough defense.
