NFL: NY Jets 13 Miami Dolphins 16 recap and consierations

Miami travelled to Metlife Stadium to keep their playoffs hoped alive against the same team who knocked them out of playoffs race last year in a similar situation with the Jets already eliminated from it but with the will to play hard, honor the game and don't gift anything to their rivals.
The Jets started with the possession of the ball and they put on the field a very good variety of offensive plays, on their 2nd possession they score builing a drive on the ground with a an awesome 46 yards run by an elusive C.J. and to a 20 yards end around well run by Greg Salas due to great block by the entire left side of the o-line. Miami reacted on a opposite way putting the ball on the air and once they arrived on FG range they have been stop by a Jets' d-line who overmatched the Dolphins 1 and forced Sturgis to kick and miss a 43 yars FG attempt. The Jets continue to attack on the ground especially with a brilliant C.Johnson who re-newed his season high already in 2nd quarter with 88 rushing yards, the Jets failed to convert a 3rd and 3 on a draw so they kicked a FG to put 2 possession between them and their opponents. Again for their 3rd straight drive the Jets continue with run and gun philosophy with the great result to keep Vernon and Wake out of the game, they also involeved again everyone on those running plays  something that confuse Miami's defense but they wasted a very good drive missing a 48 yards FG with Folk. Miami got the ball in a good field position and moved the ball into Jets territory with short passes especially slants for Landry to attack the NY's zone defense, OLB Pace made an huge mistake when Tannehill throw a ball directly on his hands on a drop coverage and he wasn't able to pick Tannehill off, Harris sack put the Dolphins in a difficult situation and they came out of it with their 1st 3 point of the game due to a Sturgis' FG.
Miami started the 2nd half with a good drive being able for the 1st time to be balanced and open up chances for play-actions passes, they went close to tie he game on a outside throw for Wallace in the endzone but he dropped the pass, after that drop Sturgis kicked another FG to cut the deficit to just 4 points. NY re-estabilished the full possession lead with a lucky 45 yards FG that hit the crossbar before went between the posts, NY used the same tactics riding Ivory with powerful runs between the tackles. Jets' inability to pass the ball made them be too predictable and forced them to punt the ball, the punt has been deflected by Dion Jordan and it seemed to change the game in favour of Miami but the jets defense capitayzed a deflected ball out of Millers' hands who was tryin to receive a low pass from Tannehill, Walls intercepted it and reruned it to the Miami's 31 yard line but again NY's offense has been unable to score and Wake knocked them out of FG range with an huge sack beating TE Cumberland 1 on 1 in pass protection situation. Miami tied the game with a rushing TD by Miller on a read options that froze a lil bit the Jets' defense to permit  to Miller to score their 1st TD of the game. After another good drive based on runs the Jets missed the game ahead FG on a 45 yards attempt by Folk. Miami got their 1st lead of the game on a Sturgis FG with 1:57 left in the game after a drive where Tannehill has been accurate. SS Rashard Jones closed the game out with an interception on a deflected ball intended to Cumberland.
The Jets played a very good game for their chances, their performance on defense show lot of improvements against a playoffs contenders like the Dolphins, their massive d-line took away Miller from the game forcing Tannehill to pass more than he wanted and this shows all the limits of the Miami's QB. Even if coach Ryan prepared the best way possible his team has too many holes to fix especially in his secoundary that hasn't been able to stop Tannehill's passes at he end of the game but even the offense need to build a decent passing game, Smith is not good enough to led an NFL team and when the Dolphins stop the Jets runs they had no chance to move the ball.
I expected a more consistent win for the Dolphins at the beginning of the game but they suffered  the NY's gameplan who denaturalyed the bith Miami's offense and defense, coach Ryan used the Miami's aggressivness themself running the ball in the middle to avoid their great passrush as Denver did last game against them. Tannehill has been effective on short passes ad when they had the chance he had very good gains on play action passes. To be a competitive team in playoffs they need to play better against the runs and avoid to let opponests run for 210 yards in the 1st half as it happened yesterday. Even if he missed a FG i give my MVP throphy to Kickers Sturgis who made the game winning FG.
