The Eagles were on scene at the Soldier Field against the Bears for the second monday night of the season, Phila lead by Wentz went ahead first thanks to a balanced drive where they had some issues in the redzone due to the pressure that the front 7 put in the rookie QB so they have been forced to call the place kicker to the field to score the first 3 points of the game. Chicago had the chance to answer back immediately with a drive made completely by air but Barth missed an easy FG that would tie the game. The home team finally got on the scoreboard on their first drive of the second quarter where Jeffery's big play on a double move on rookie QB Mills for 60 yards opened up the chance for Langford to score a rushing TD following his FB on the weak side. The visitors found back some rhythm on offense in last minutes of the first half when Wentz found for very good gains Barton and J.Matthews on out and corner routes that fooled the Bears defense but once again in the redzone the home team defense stepped up and forced them to kick and made the second FG of the game.
Phila started the second half with the possession of the ball but the multiple penalties put them in a position where the Bears' pass rushers could cause problems and they did forcing the punt unit the came on the field, both offense didn't produce any point until the Eagles last drive of the third quarter where they drove the ball down field with short passes and once close to the end zone they designed some plays with players on movement to fool the defense and they made it right when Proles was on the move from the double back set and Mathews run between the tackles scoring 6 on his second effort. Chicago got the ball back on his 23 yard line but at the very first play Cutler got picked off by Bradham who was on a zone coverage and who took advantage of an awful off target pass by the Bears QB that let the visitors start their drive with just 2 yards from the end zone, once there they extended their lead at the very first play on a TE screen by Burton.
The fourth quarter saw the Bears play with QB Hoyer who replaced an injured Cutler but their offense continue to turn the ball over, this time with Langford who lost a fumble on a draw play. The Eagles moved the ball quickly into the Bears redzone thanks to 2 big runs by Proles and Mathews, once there they decide to go on fourth down faking a jet sweep flipping the play to Mathews that scored the TD the closed the game out in favor of the Eagles.
