The main even of UFC 205 has been the awaited fight for the lightweight title between the champion Eddie Alvarez and the contender Connor the notorious McGregor who wanted to be the first fighter in UFC to have two different bels at the same time. Right from the first round the challenger let his reach advantage play on his favor keep the distance and defending the takedowns try by the champion, this strategy paid off because like that McGregor has been able to knock down his rival twice in the first round with two powerful left straights but Alvarez have been able to recover from them and continue to fight. The second round saw McGregor continue to the the fight at the distance he wanted and the results for Alvarez have been worst than the first round because after 3 minutes of receiving blows he went down for the third time, again due to a left handed straight but this time he hasn't been able to recover from them and so he has been been finalized with a ferocious ground and pound that gave to McGregor his second belt and put him in the UFC history book.
