Valencia – MotoGP
Valencia,
one year after the “war” peace breaks out!
“What
I have to say about Valentino? Chapeau!”. It is not a joke but
these are the real statements of Jorge Lorenzo after the last race of
this season, on the day of farewall from Yamaha after nine years,
three world titles, fourty-four victories and thirty-nine
pole-position.
9
years in Yamaha of which 7 passed as teammates with Rossi, but a
relationship between the two very difficult that had its climax one
year ago when Jorge and Vale competed for the world title exactly in
Valencia; impossible to forget are the indictments between Rossi and
the two Spanish riders, Lorenzo and Marquez, guilty of having helped
each other.
The
aftermath of this episode continued for many months and only after
the signing of Jorge with Ducati the relationship came back at least
respectful. In fact the coexistence was becoming unmanageable and
following the renewal of contract of Valentino it was inevitable that
Jorge would go away.
Obviously
the changeover of Lorenzo in Ducati has caused important movements
between MotoGp's pilots and so next year will begin a new adventure
not only for the Spanish but also for other “top riders” as
Iannone and Vinales: the latter will become the new teammate of Rossi
in Yamaha while Suzuki will welcome the Italian.
Therefore,
2017 will be an important year to understand if Valentino, close to
38 years, will always be able to compete for top positions and if
Lorenzo will be able to win on a difficult motorbike to ride as
Ducati, with which only Casey Stoner had won a world title. Surely
the two rivals will try in every way to entertain fans and the
diplomacy of this Sunday will leave space to new exciting duels.
