Drafted out of the university of Tennessee as the 1st overall pick in 1998 by the Indianapolis Colts Peyton Williams Manning came in the NFL with high expectations in a franchise that waited for a QB like this since Johnny Unitas retirement. Manning and his fans had to wait 8 years to see him win a Superbowl, it happened in Miami against the Bears in a raining night, on that night he finally put his name among the "winners" because after some years that the Colts were supposed to win the ring they fell short, most of those times due too a poor defense that especially on the ground gave up too many points and let Peyton play under an high pressure, some others due some Manning's mistakes especially in the postseason that cost them the elimination and also an unfriendly nickname to their QB "regular season QB".
Manning of course changed the QB position becoming a true coach on the field, reading the defenses so well that he was free to change the play, put a RB or TE as the extra protector or just modified some routes for the receiver, he has been able to do all of this due to his manical will to study the game, looking the polaroid on every single time his drive ended to look the adjustments made by the defense and they different kind of coverages proposed to try to stop him.
Everything seemed to be finished at the beginning of the 2011 season when he suffered a terrific neck injury that forced him to be placed in season ending IR and a lot of people have been skeptic about his possible return due to his advanced age and the kind of hits that QBs are exposed in the NFL so the Colts did choosing to use their first round pick to get Luck and releasing Manning counting him "ended", Elway chose to bet on him and he won, maybe the biggest move in Broncos history because of that they had 4 straight winning seasons, playing 2 Superbowls and winning 1 of them in last Peyton's NFL game, during this period they had an impressive offense especially in 2013 when Manning destroyed every passing and scoring records.
Peyton not only played football during his 18 years career but he has been a great actor thanks to very funny spots that he made for very important brands, i will always remember the football cops with his brother that in my opinion has been the best and hilarious spot ever made by a sport athlete.
I enjoyed so much watch him play for his 18 years career and i will miss him so much even if he never plays for my team even if i wanted to see him playing for my Chargers.
