Euro Cup 2016: Italia 2 Espana 0 considerations and analysis

This has been the best match in the eights of finals, two different teams in matter of scheme and approach to the game, Italia played with a conservative 3-5-2, conservative doesn't mean defensive because they played an high pressing to disturb and interrupt the Spanish plays right from where they started, in fact Ramos and Pique had to pass the ball to Degea a lot of times instead to give it to Iniesta who was supposed to be the playmaker for his team, that way to play didn't the Spanish team to estalish the  tika taka in the offensive zone. Spain played with a 4-4-3 where they were on offense with the defense very high but they weren't on the same line and it brought them a lot of problems on counterattacks, the best weapon for the Italian in this game where they have been able to that with quick give and go between Pellè and the midfielders who run with him in the offense. On the defensive the Spanish 4-4-3 became a 4-5-1 with Silva and Nolito playing lower then on offense to help their midfielders that are not good to recover balls and on the definsive part of the game.

Italia scored forst at the 33rd minute with Chiellini who pushed on goal a ball left in the goal aread by Degea after he made a save on Eder's free kick, since that things didn't change an the Spanish team continue with a sterile ball possession around midfield with the Italian team having the chances to score more than a goal, the defending european champions became a lil bit dangerous just at the end of the match more precisly on the last 10 minutes of it especially with Pique who played like a striker but on a counterattack at the 91st minute Pellè scored the second goal of the game to deny every comeback chance to the Spain.
